I haven't watched boxing for years, not since Eubank, Tyson, Nazism and Bruno.
You see reports that it's so pre historic and brutal and you head lot of people moaning about it.
Well I'm sat in the pub and sky sports us on and there is boxing from the Manchester arena on.
I couldn't tell you who was fighting or who won but I have to admit just was really impressed with how two situations were handled. It is an absolute credit to the sport.
Firstly there was something happening in the Crowd, boos were ringing around and you could see people at the front turn around and start videoing on the phones. It wasent mentioned and did not show it on television. Compare that to say football when it's shown live and discussed to the death in the media. Does this help preventing crowd issues because well as from as viewers are concerned nothing happened.
But more importantly and i will get to the point (if indeed there is one). During one of the latter rounds one of the boxers was clearly knocked out with a cracking punch. It's the events that happened after that impressed me so much.
Within two seconds the ref was putting him in the recovery position. Within three seconds a doctor was at his side. Within four seconds an entire medical team was at his side. Within five seconds that team had all the medical equipment they needed.
I felt that from when I was watching boxing has come such a long way and will definitely stick up for the sport.

All that said there are still anomalies like Fury that undo the good work boxing has done to its image over the years.
Joshua winning sets up a hugely exciting fight with Klitschko next April.
