So, according to the Rugby Paper, the lovely George is off to Sale Sharks, and Baaarth are hoping to bring Henry Slade in from Exeter.
I am surprised on both counts.
I wouldn't have thought either would wish to leave their present club. It would be good for Slade to get the regular ten shirt, and I'm sure he'd be a great replacement for George Ford.
I can't see the benefit of Ford leaving Bath at present.
Any views?

They both have better foot work than anyone on 'Strictly Acting Like a Duck Egg'.
Shouldn't you be too busy building a boat (and stabbing yourself with sharp objects without noticing) to watch 'Strictly'?

I would have thought that Baaarth are well suited to George, and vice versa.
Apart from big bucks, I don't see what he gains up at Sale. They're more than a great stand-off away from being the top team. Maybe he just wants to go home to the northwest.

From what i've heard on the grapevine, it's only speculation. But as they say "There's no smoke etc".

Fecking rumour mill has Lancaster to replace Our Jim. No! Don't think he's that daft. A season or two in Ireland will do him no end of good. The Slade/Ford story has been kicking about in the Rugby Paper for a couple of weeks. Even suggests Baarth have upped their offer to Slade, based on a payment from Sale to release Ford from his contract. Who knows. Rog

Rugby Paper has Sale paying 200k to free him from his contract, then 600k per year.
Henry Slade is apparently being chased.
I am still struggling to understand why he wouldn't want to stay at Baaarth and ride the wave.

I know he's still mightily miffed at the whole Daddy shenanigans and he was one of the last people at Baaaarrrffff to hear about his extra physio activities. But in my opinion, every man has a price. If he wants to go.....then so be it, and the best of luck to him. But, there's no point in speculating till the end of the season, when we find out what Georges' decision is, straight from the horses mouth.
