Talks to start at ACAS tomorrow 10:00 am
Any guesses whether UK Gov.PLC will start climbing down or are they still determined to fight (including changing laws regarding who can go on strike).
I think UK Gov.PLC will win this one (sadly).
Interested in other opinions though.

it sometimes seems we're going back to the bad old days when unions think it is appropriate to be the killjoys of the season.
post office workers, train conductors .............. no doubt all the santas will call a wildcat strike on Xmas eve.

Southern rail drivers are striking over an already well established practice in rail and the crown post office staff are striking over proposals that won't really affect customers in the long term. in short, no support here, sorry.

The bastard's are looking like ensuring we have the mother in law for Christmas, most normal folk have a turkey. Brother in law and his tribe live in Brighton and usually come up to stay with her over the festive period - they don't have the stomach to be buggered about by an industrial dispute and are set to stay at home. This leaves us in the unenviable position if having to entertain her instead.

Didn't think there would be much support for the strikers on here. Maybe tomorrow I'll let you know why I support them - I'm sure it would be different if canal lengths-men were striking.
PS. Gazza you will survive, just remember to boil the cabbage for two days...

I can't help but feel that strike action is being used BECAUSE it will cause untold pain and anguish to rail users.
Isn't that a bit "My issue is more important than your life". Just plain selfish.
Surely there has to be a better way, whatever the grievance.

At least you'll get more entertainment out of the mother-in-law, than a certain Saintly rugby team at the moment
