More bad sht Looks like the dead passenger was the truck driver before he was killed by the person who hijacked his vehicle. Doesn't seem much like an accident. Yes, LBC reported the truck was from Poland and the driver had been with them 15 years, my first thought then was.......he'd been Hijacked and then topped. RIP all

But Germany’s interior minister, Thomas de Maizière, urged caution: I don’t want to use the word ‘attack’ yet at the moment, although a lot speaks for it.
There is a psychological effect in the whole country of the choice of words here, and we want to be very, very cautious and operate close to the actual investigation results, not with speculation.
Above taken from link in Twitter... Further down the article they are saying it seems to have been deliberate act but I guess they don't want panic retaliatory reaction against whatever group perceived to be responsible.

It will be interesting to see what verbal diarrhoea spews forth from Merkel today.

Kinda miss the balance that used to be on CWDF.... I don't recall anybody on there condoning murder and acts of terrorism. Oh yes you do... Serious question - without delving back into the archives, John Holden springs to mind a someone I was thinking of but also someone who I would have liked to had a pint with - whatever happened to him? No idea TBH. i do remember him though but not his stance on acts of terrorism. Or was he the one that defended the acts of the IRA?

BBC are reporting that the driver was an asylum seeker, either Afghan or Pakistani. He arrived in Germany in February.
All that applause as the migrants flooded in has a rather hollow ring to it now eh?

Or was he the one that defended the acts of the IRA? In my original comment of course I was referring to the subject in hand which was islamic terrorism. (I should of course have prefixed it as such in order to make it simpler for some to understand.)

I can see how some would see it like that yes, but given that such an event will inevitably be used by some to demonise all asylum seekers then that it is entirely predictable is it not?

Some may have demonised all asylum seekers. Other merely pointed out that the flow of people would inevitably include some terrorists. Both groups were widely condemned as racists and bigots. And then we see the reality of it.

And then we see the reality of it. The problem with your ideology and stance is that it condemned thousands of people to abject misery and death just to make you feel a little bit safer when in fact (as was pointed out to you multiple times before on CWDF) you are just as much at risk from home grown islamic terrorists. Even Trump the Chump now knows that shutting the door on all Muslims and preventing them all from entering a country was neither workable nor in reality desirable.
