You can not wash your hands properly in cold water, especially if you have oil or grease on them. Even soot is a bugger to shift without water at 40 degrees or more. (I am aware of products like Swarfega).

Wash your hands in cold water, and man up. I refer you to Kelper's reply. But I do, that's the problem, I'm too impatient to run it until it's hot. I recently spent 8 years full time restoring old vehicles, engine building, the whole works. I'm enjoying being clean to a new level, no more shower trays full of grinding dust, no stained hands.

I am going with the F-11EL that is after muct searching around. I dint think Midland Chandlers would sell non boat approved heaters. Unless i have missed some of the specs for the others but for the Micro aswell as the F-11EL the rest are not oom sealed. Wash your hands in cold water, and man up. I refer you to Kelper's reply. I domt miss that one bit. manky hands and hair, sore head from not wearing a hard hat when working under cars. Saying that i have been dragging splinters out my head after the last few days working on the boat. But i do have clean hands now

I'm with Tadders, my water for a brew and hand cleaning comes out of a 5l ashbourne spring water can that's refilled away from the boat, couple of brews and the rest for knocking the shite off my hands in a bucket with some deb hand cleanser. Fat man's bog roll to dry them and a wet wipe to save the Italian leather steering wheel on the drive home. Warm water? Sheer bloody luxury I tell thee!

I never implied you were a bastard! It's all down to my training in the catering/hotel side where we had to be very careful not to spread norovirus. Public Health Officers would inspect the ship and a hand wash basin with water at less than 40 was considered quite a hazard. No disrespect to you, sir.

I'm being mischievous I may be a metal basher but I do take my personal hygiene seriously - I must be doing something right as my wife who is a nurse and flu buster doesn't tell me off That said, rough and ready washing facilities are better than no washing facilities!

Sadly, some hospital staff are not very good at hand washing and rely on sanitising gels instead.

[br You haven't met the former hygiene consultant from occy health at my wife's hospital - whole afternoons lost to her droning on about the finer points of digit scrubbing. We moved next door to her son and future daughter in law, she didn't switch off much - even a change of hospital didn't diminish her enthusiasm for preaching the gospel of sparkly clean hands
