Try phoning to Peel Holdings and having a moan. They record all calls for tax avoiding training purposes. That is if you can get anyone to answer the phone, you can only call between 2 and 4 and it is common for the phone to ring out. Mind you, Peter Parkinson did answer the phone to me once so you might get very lucky!

"I suggested politely in that case they should return and pick up the mess as they had time before ferry left. They refused to do so."
Push them over and shove their faces in it? ("She only came forward after the adverse publicity")

I'm currently planning my next trip, and I was planning to use the Bridgewater canal between Manchester and Preston Brook in mid-May. Will this be possible (I'm not sure of the geographical places mentioned)? If not, is it feasible to use the Manchester Ship Canal? I'll be travelling from Skipton towards Rugby.

As far as I am aware Preston Brook to Manchester is fine, it is if you want to turn left at Waters Meet at Stretford that you would be in trouble although you can get as far as the Trafford Centre if you want to go shopping there.

Many thanks. I will probably have more questions to ask from local boaters as the time draws nearer. Can I just check that I have got one thing right though, I won't need a licence for the Bridgewater for a visit of less than seven days?
