So Trump is in office less than 24 hours and women all over the world are protesting. Can anybody enlighten me as to WTF they have to complain about after such a short time in office. I can see that American women might, just might find something to gripe about but WTF the women in the rest of the world have to be concerned about is beyond me. I would have thought it sensible to wait and see what if anything Trump does to effect the female population them protest about it. It seems rather odd to start demonstrating about something that hasn't happened yet. Phil

Not sure what they are protesting about but I suspect it is more about his past comments than the future. And to be honest I don't 'blame' them for protesting.

'Sex equality'. The problem is in that word 'equality'. The fact is that men and women are fundamentally different. Men tend to be better at some things and worse at others. Same with women. I'm not a sexist but I like to think I'm a realist. Humans seem to be good at getting angry or fighting over words rather than accepting that we ARE all different and try to work with eachother. A good team, whether it is a foorball team or husband and wife, relies on utilising the different strengths of the individuals. If everyone were the same, nothing would get done and life would be boring. What we are seeing is rule by divide and conquer. Whilst the elite can spin us around making us angry with eachother, they continue to hold the power. End of Sunday serman...

I think the 'pussy hats' were made in Equador by Trump Corporation Inc. Why aren't those women doing something useful, like dredging the canals? Or searching for homeless children? Or picking up litter from the roadsides? Or ironing their husbands' shirts?

I would guess that they are protesting that a serial misogynist, assaulter, and sexual harasser of women is now the President of the USA. I further guess that they're just trying to let him know that "We know who you are, we haven't forgotten, and are watching". Having lived a life of entitlement, whether he gives two hoots, I would again guess not. And at 70 years old I equally guess he isn't going to change. Sometimes in life, when you think something is wrong, all you can do is say so. Just guessing Rog

It's pointless whining and IMO reflects badly on women who by and large are probably embarrassed. Is this the same core that have valiantly fought for woman's rights? If I were a woman I'd curse them too. This lot have changed the West so that now we have a situation where woman still have the same lack of choice but now find themselves with an extra albeit paid job. Ask most mother's and you'd find them still taking on the lion's share of domestic duties but now also paying half the mortgage. Jolly well done.

I think over the years the pendulum has swung too far. Powerful men groping women is not the answer though.
Another word which causes problems is the word 'rights'. There are no rights, it's just that we gain respect by doing the 'right' thing.

Don't ignore the fact that a lot of women voted for him.
I also find the trend to protest against democratically made decisions worrying. Presumably the intention is to convince the opposing view that they are wrong by weight of numbers and crys of let's have another 'democratic' choice.

Protesting against decisions is the epitomy of democracy. Telling people to shut up and accept things is undemocratic.
