Talking of the USA, I've just watched this documentary about Amtrak's Acela Express, there might be some on here who like this kind of thing. It's especially riveting at 37:27! If you ever find yourself at a loose end, I'd recommend catching a train between New York and Washington D.C.

Don't ignore the fact that a lot of women voted for him. I also find the trend to protest against democratically made decisions worrying. Presumably the intention is to convince the opposing view that they are wrong by weight of numbers and crys of let's have another 'democratic' choice. bearing in mind that 3 million more Americans voted for Clinton, the protest is understandable. democracy as we know it is deeply flawed.

Then they need to be protesting against the electoral method used, rather than against the person elected by it. But even if you change the electoral method you tend to find only arrogant selfish individuals have the confidence and drive to go for positions of control. It's just a sad fact of life that nice sensitive people don't make easy politicians...well at least on a world stage. In this day and age of the social media it is more possible to speak out. We all believe we have a platform on the internet. Those who read our efforts can choose to ignore them, or if they agree, pass on the message. Hopefully over time the truth will get exposed more and more.

Agree, that and she didnt vote areas she already thought she had won, far to complacent and thats why she lost The point is often made that Clinton received two million votes more than Trump, but this is more than accounted for by the enormously lop-sided vote in California, a state where there has traditionally been very little blue collar work. It was the rust belt that elected Trump.

Some very interesting observations have been posted and the consensus seems to be the sisters have just indulged in band wagon jumping, pity they did not direct their energy towards assisting women in India, Pakistan, China, Korea all places where woman are at best chattels but often less so. Phil

Phil Band wagon jumping or coming together for the common good? Really depends on your point of view doesn't it. No one can fight all things, but most like to influence things. Foreign places where people don't always understand maybe left up to the foreign policy of where you live and have a more direct influence over.

Personally I think the outrage of these women would be better directed towards the abuse of the millions of women around the world who routinely suffer female genital mutilation- circumcision- than towards somebody who spoke in a (supposedly) private conversation, twelve years ago about "grabbing somebody's pussy".
But then of course, this raises the issue of being "racist" since female genital mutilation is carried out exclusively by dark-skinned folk. Political Correctness is a minefield so it's a good job I tend to stay away from it, and say it as I see it.

I've said it before, and no doubt will say again - at heart I am most uncomfortable about being ruled over by a monarchy, but it is a reasonable price to pay to avoid having a UK president. I shudder to think who we would get.
