I think the UT-203 is a good meter, dc current up to 400A and whilst it isn't that accurate at low currents it's good enough for charging circuits etc. Just bear in mind that when used on ac current, you have to put just one conductor inside the jaws, if you put a whole 3 core flex cable in it, it will read zero. I find the voltage reading pretty accurate, also measures resistance and has a beeper for continuity checking,

But it doesn't measure DC current! And he doesn't need a 400A AC meter either! The op stated that he wanted a Clamp meter to read AC current in post 1 did he not? You won't get a decent quality Clamp. Meter to read dc for £50 The OP stated "mostly AC", but on a yacht. So obviously there are batteries, therefore DC as well. Original ask was for a good all round tool... So, yes, DC current is important. He has gone ahead and purchased the uni-t 210. We discussed the likely specific use, and decided that reading over 100a was unlikely, but an additional higher callibrated meter can be sourced if this becomes the case. My buddy has purchased the yacht. He and his misses are doing it up slowly, and then heading off to sun themselves around the glove. Lucky buggers.

Globe...
Not sure why people would sun themselves around a glove.

Have posted this before, worth a watch: Worth a watch? Piggin Ecck!! What is that man on? Very informative even if watching him makes one need to rest in a darkened room. For what it's worth, as someone in an earlier post suggested, if you're a hired hand the boss should provide kit fit for.. etc but if not I have a clamp amp (AC/DC) multi meter badged as Mastech MS2108A. Its been used and abused over time, as useful and accurate as the posh stuff at work and cheap as chips off the web.

I don't know much about multimeters but I liked his style, a bit like me I think things should be well-built and made to last for many years, and also repairable. As everyone knows, I despair of so many products Made in China. The Chinese do not care one jot about their customers,I see it as one giant scam, sell a lot of crap, get the money, start buying bits of the countries that have fallen for your trick - their stuff keeps failing and they need to keep buying more and more 5-minute-wonder-gadgets. I like people with enthusiasm and sense. This Aussie reminds me of one of my old bus driving instructors, Jim Swallow of London Country Bus Services Ltd., he would stand beside you as you drove and rabbit on non-stop, driving with you second by second, pointing out this and that, anticipating your every next thought as the situations unfolded.
