But you have to be a member.....and I don't do face book. Rog Well Rog,
if you really wanted to know more about this, and possibly plenty of other subjects that have Facebook pages, you could become a member of Facebook (which is free), and you can read all that has been written about them, and all that without the need of showing them your face, or writing anything on there yourself.
But if that's really too much hassle for you, there's some interesting reading on the net, for which you don't need Facebook, and that will make you already a bit wiser too.
Just have a look at : www.sustainablebuild.co.uk/composttoilets.html
Peter.

Thanks for the link, although that just seems to reinforce my concerns regarding composting on a boat.
I shall await further updates with interest.

Why go elsewhere when we have a shit thread of our own, awaiting the expert to tell all. I hope this doesn't turn into a " Rachel's lift bridge destructions" saga!

He's most likely pissed off by all the negative comments, mainly of people that aren't really interested in his expériences with his loo, as all they want is new food for bad comments.
If I would be him, I wouldn't be sharing any information about my loo with them at all.
To finish with, here's another short story about compost loo's (here again, they're not on a boat)

yes but unfortunately he's got it wrong and is putting his preeduices views across as fact. Perhaps you could present us with facts then? How is it going, in practice, now that you have been using it for a few months? Even I am curious as to where it is all stored. Info update, please! en.shitexpress.com/

Peter.
youve hit the nail on the head Peter. Why should I post any more leaving myself open to the inane comments from tomsk and others based on their preducices. These are clear to me from the words used like "festering", "boxes" etc. If anybody has read this thread they would also know that I don't store anything in my bedroom which is aload of bollocks spread by tomsk. So I'm afraid you will all have to go and educate yourselves somewhere else.

As I understand it, there are several esteemed colleagues on here who have such a facility.
I was in no way seeking to encourage anyone to reveal information that they do not wish to, and I have never posted derogatory comments about anyone here or indeed anywhere else.
I thought Tomsk, in a nutshell, stated the arguments against composting loos on a boat, and honestly stated that was my prejudice too.
I hoped someone would be willing or able to counter them.
No problem if nobody does.

It shows Tomsks intentions. this is being discussed in a completely unrelated thread, that he has brought the issue up in. His intentions are to cause trouble, no matter what words he wraps them up in.

It is not my intent to criticise or derail comments into negativity so if Kris choses not to enlighten us.I'm not that bothered, My curiosity was stirred but only because of what I read from Tomsk that I hadn't considered.

His intentions are to cause trouble, no matter what words he wraps them up in. Which is why I joined in with banter! I am genuinely interested though, as to how it is progressing long term. Tomsk may have got further if he stuck to rational argument in threads on the topic, he laid out his argument in a clear fashion. His twatish behaviour, occasionally funny, has begun to grate on many, IMHO.

I have been pressing Kris for some time now for feedback on this issue following kriss's evangelising the process some months ago, all to no avail.
All I have received thus far is a metaphorical box-full of witless abuse.
Kriss, please update and feedback.
What is it like living day to day with a steadily increasing number of boxes of shit?
Are you relishing the thought of hitting the magic 26 number when you get to open your very first fortnightly box of fragrant, rich compost ready to dig into your rose-beds/vegetable patch and reap the rewards of your brave initiative?
We all want to learn from your experiences.
