Latest BBC spin update. Lots of nasty people making money out of slave labour. Yes, the elite have been doing that to the general populous for years...

Poor old Auntie beeb are really struggling with a no deal Brexit. They are pulling out all the stops. I think they realise they will be in deep poo soon if they canβt use their influence (whatβs left of it) to get everyone on their side.
What bright spark thought this was a good time to remove free licences from over 75βs?
Something tells me that the compulsory TV. licence....sorry meant BBC licence will end very soon.

An old thread resurrected ... seems slightly odd. Never the less ... I'm not a fan of television but watch occasional dramas and comedies when at home. On the boat we don't watch tv really. The question I would ask is, if BBC tv was 'pay to view' how much would you watch? Jane's a Uni Challenge and Only Connect fan ... but that's the sum total of our BBC tv viewing routinely. One hour a week (when they're on). I'm not sure the BBC retains the support of the majority of the public anymore, and cancelling the free tv licences for the elderly will not have helped with their popularity. I find the adverts for their own programmes intensely irritating too ... what happened to 'no commercials' and how much does it cost to make these self promotion films. Not a fan of the modern BBC Rog

We don't have any TVs or Netflix or anything like that at all. Occasional DVDs for the kids.
I hate telly.

Chasing the Moon is good light entertainment 50 years on - almost worth the years licence fee on its own π

BBC does have blatant advertising. I watched the Wimbledon final and every 10-15 minutes some dumbed down useless facts appeared at the bottom of the screen, such as blah has one 18 of his last 27 semi finals. All with American Express in the top right corner.
