Roger - slap that note on her boat and run! That is partly the problem. Having seen what she wrote on CWDF and the way she kicked off towards the end accusing some who tried to help her of all sorts of things such as technical incompetence and unwanted advances coupled with the self imposed privacy aspects such as the bankside curtains always being closed, it does give a strong impression that she wants no further contact with anyone from the boating community, especially males. I may be wrong, but that it the impression that I get. If I saw her out of the boat I might try to broach the subject but to go there and knock on the boat could be asking for an unpleasant reception IMO. I don't think that anyone knows the persons that she was accusing of technical incompetence and unwanted advances, she just laid into 'persons unknown' on CWDF. Roger

I don't think having the bank side curtains closed is anything unusual especially in skipton.

Roger I think if you introduced yourself as from cwdf there is every chance she will think you are stalking her and she may feel threatened. I would suggest that if you talk to her let her mention cwdf first.

why the fuck are so many people interested in what the good lady does and what level of advice she wants (or not)?
suggest we treat her like any other canal dweller - leave her in peace unless she asks for help.
dare I suggest that no-one would have been interested if a bloke had behaved in the way she did.

Oh well, just trying to be helpful. "dare I suggest that no-one would have been interested if a bloke had behaved in the way she did." - it was her writing that was of interest. I would have reacted the same way if they had been male.
