Can't argue as you live there, but I still think Sturgeon is using the referendum as a lever, rather than to pursue independence.
Don't worry, we'll still let you in.

I find it hard to define 'Scotland'.
is it a geographical area on the map, or is it a group of like-minded and like-cultured people?
every TV documentary on history, nature, the highlands, Orkney, whatever, seems to feature more English accents than Scottish.

May should insist that in addition to people currently resident in Scotland, all residents of the UK who were born in Scotland should get to vote in the referendum.

If Sturgeon really wants independence for Scotland she should insist on the English being allowed to vote.

What, you mean like every documentary on Bradford features more Asian accents than English, every documentary of Boston (Lincs) feature more Polish accents than English? But yes, the Jockanese tend to stay packed tightly in the slums of the central belt (Glasgow/Edinburgh area). Maybe it's too cold for them in the Highlands and Islands? These tend to be populated by the white settlers such as myself. Well except for Shetland which is too cold and dark even for us, only Vikings live there.

And then you get these American prats who keep going on about their Scottish roots and how it gives them an excuse to dress up funny at weddings:
