Well, I'm on my way to Skipton from Stretton-under-Fosse, I'm at Glascote tonight, so far I've done 28 miles and 12 locks since yesterday lunchtime but I have a long way to go yet. I'm going via Standedge Tunnel and planning to get to Skipton just before Easter. I'll be single-handed until next weekend then I'll have crew along as and when. I'll post some photos when I get the chance. If anyone sees me, then say Hello"!
I'm sure I'll be asking for advice at some point, for the next week I'm on familiar waters but then I branch off onto pastures new...

I found this silly test on the BBC site today that supposes to tell you where in the UK you would be happiest. For me it suggested Skipton I went to Skipton once, in the middle of a gale. I bought a pay and display parking ticket and the wind blew it out of my hand. I had to buy another. I ate fish and chips there in a sit down establishment. The chips were mediocre. I'd need to develop webbed feet and unnatural interest in blood relatives then!

According to the test the best place for me would be Craven in the Yorkshire Dales.
