Will you be getting the lad to do the Cheshire locks, or letting him steer? We tend to do about 50/50 steering and locking, neither of us has any real preference and we just have a change when we feel like it. The only real difference is that being a teenager he loves to sleep in in the morning so we normally try to moor in a lock-free section so I can do a couple of hours in the morning while he snoozes, and he does the graveyard shift.

Don't forget the clocks change on Saturday, so won't be dark until after 7pm. Etruria is good, China Gardens is good mooring and the pubs okay for food. Westport Lake is very pleasant mooring these days, not like in the 1990's. It takes just over an hour from Etruria to the tunnel portal. Will you be getting the lad to do the Cheshire locks, or letting him steer? Rog What's the Toby carvery like that way.

Remember the CLANG! as the doors close behind you, and the sound of the fans starting up in Harecastle Tunnel.

Was going to be via Standedge Tunnel but we couldn't get a booking for next week, presumably they can only take as many boats as they have chaperones (why do you need a chaperone anyway?) so similar way except a diversion via Rochdale, Todmorden etc. Might come back via Bridgewater, might come back via Standedge Tunnel, not sure yet. At Etruria Junction at the mo.

So I think your system must be broken. I mean we all know it's not fit for purpose, but it must be knackered if you haven't had a sighting for 14days.
