I think I smell a Twat !!! yes it could be the twat, but mr snot gobbler also likes posting untruths about my composting set up. We all still await feedback on your 'composting' set up and 'gassifier' installation.

Time for an update, we are in central Manchester, Piccadilly Basin now. Lots of locks today so we're knackered. Surprised at how quiet it is on the cut, we're the only boat here and we've only seen seven moving boats in the last three days.

Rochdale, Todmorden etc. Have the long climb out of Manc today. If it stops raining.

Now don't be coy. It's obvious the reason you've changed your plans and are rushing to skipton. Is for the lady on the boat, you know the one you showed an unhealthy interest in when there was a thread about her on here.

I think possibly Christopher, that the fumes being given off by decaying faecal matter and soggy cardboard are causing you to hallucinate now. In any event I will have my girlf with me and one woman is more than enough to do the cooking and cleaning, thank you.

I presume you know you need to moor up near the Rose of Lancaster? There's a nice mooring, bollards, quiet, scenery etc, about 400m past the pub, where the aqueduct is. Next stop Littleborough. I might be able to do a couple of locks for you, going up the hill. Keep me posted. Our boat is down at the sani station in Tod at the moment, planning to take it to Hebden on Wednesday next, my brother is over from Spain, bringing a crew of his grandspawn.

Don't forget The Fox and Goose pub in Hebden Bridge! And Morrisons in Todmorden for breakfast. Hebden Bridge - cinema! Hebden Bridge - coal merchants by railway station 5 minutes' walk from park - they had Pureheat last Summer (loads of it), logs and kindling - and they'll lend you a wheelbarrow.

Well, for the moment we are going nowhere, we have a mattress wrapped around the prop, I've had a go at cutting it off with bolt cutters but there's just too much of it and we don't have the best weed hatch in the world. Just pondering what to do next. This part of the Rochdale Canal is seriously short of water too, not the best day of the trip!

Just pondering what to do next. This part of the Rochdale Canal is seriously short of water too, not the best day of the trip! I take it you are coming up through Newton Heath. They filmed Shameless round there. It's always full of shite. The volocky who helped us up told a tale of a woman who's husband had been playing around. She drove his new Mercedes over the grass, put a brick on the accelerator and Splash! We saw a scooter in the bottom of one lock. It's a price to be paid going up and down to Manchester. The couple of miles through Rochdale are a bit of a mess, but once you get past Milnrow Road, (there's a Range, Asda, mcds etc there) it's fine. There's sometimes a "bible study group" near Oldham Road, I just chat to them.
