Open Google drive and go to the pic you want (not via Google photos!) get / copy the share link (the link you normally post as just a link not a pic, foxy). Open drive direct link generator, paste the share link into the box, copy the new generated link and paste that into your post. (as for the woman, she was nice, enjoyed my time in Portpatrick. If you look closely she's waving and saying "bye bye big boy"!) that just sounds so complicated...is google drive google?..maybe i'll google, google drive and see wots what

Can't they just sit and explain in words whilst you do the mouse tricks? Where would be the fun in that? Always remember: knowledge is power.

I think it's more that everything menu driven, in effect multi-choice - you know which to click when you see it, there's no need to remember exactly what it is.

So if I find an image I want to use,I normally right click on the image then copy the image address, then click insert image on the screen control and paste the image address in,then click insert image. Am I being a norty boy for using up storage space? That's what I've been doing. Apart from a few fox moving emoticons/emojiis a few months back. So... have I been doing anything wrong? Sorry, just come across this thread. If you post images to this site it uses the Proboards allocated bandwidth for this site, therefore the reason why D9 has suspended the posting of images direct. If as Stumpy indicated you copy an image link this does of course not affect the bandwidth on this site, but the site hosting the original image is now going to have their bandwidth increased and when they put a block on it all you have left is a blank where the image was. As others have said, copy any proposed images to an image sharing website Flikr et al or in my case if I wish to host an image I would upload to my own webspace and copy the link.

I have read that three times now and to me it says host your image on an external site (which I usually do) but be aware they may run out of bandwith too. So what is the point of your post please.

He is suggesting that users upload any images that they want to share here to a dedicated image host instead of hotlinking the image. A sensible suggestion.

Then insert a link into my posts on here, and they display. Is there suddenly now something wrong with doing this?

1. Post image to Facebook. 2. Copy image address. 3. Paste image address of Facebook post in post here. 4. Delete image from Facebook.

Perhaps I should have explained it more clearly. Stumpy was indicating that he linked to images on other sites (not image sharing sites) and the other site would then be having their bandwidth used up. For example if I choose to put a link on this site to an image from one of my websites, that's fine for me as I control my bandwidth. But if someone else then chooses to link to my image on another site then that site is also using my bandwidth and so on of which I would have no control except to delete the original image. Image sharing websites are a good get around if you do not have your own web space although there will be limits to what can be stored under one user name.

Imgr just deletes your oldest image when you reach your storage limit with them. Not a problem really because by the time that happens the post you made containing that image has long fallen out of interest.

Then there is no image to look at??? Once an image is posted on the internet, it obtains a URL. That URL can then be posted elsewhere, and it doesn't matter if the image is deleted from the original place it was posted to.
