This is one instance where the British Army could help out. It would be a character-building experience for them, and a good PR exercise.

OK, so a few helium balloons tied to the rails aren't going to work then... but they would look awfully pretty

I just empied a few buckets in the river here, it will take a while for the water that they contained to get to the sea at le Havre, but you never know, it may just make that tiny little bit more to get the sea level high enough to finally float Sabina out off her bad position.
I wish you all the luck you need to get her going.
Peter.

Did last night/this morning's tide make what was predicted, John ? - fingers crossed for this afternoon and/or tomorrow ! Afraid not Tony, it was well down 6.1 forecast ..... actual 5.8 Saturdays is forecast 6.26 at 0200 hrs and Sunday 6.31 at 0249 hrs The afternoon ones are a bit lower ...... the weather looks like it might be on the change with the baro dropping for Sunday ...... so all is not yet lost !!!

That sparrow fart tide on Sunday could be the one then, John, . . . . let's hope it breaks this pattern of making around a foot less than prediction that you had with the last lot of Springs as well ! Edit to add: Just seen that latest post, John - that's good news ; you might even have enough on tomorrow morning's !

How abouts if everyone on Thunderboat flushes their toilet at an allotted time tomorrow, to make a temporary rise in sea level? Otherwise hope for a tsumani in the North Sea. Methinks it's time to get a serious hydraulic digger to do some diggin'!

Methinks it's time to get a serious hydraulic digger to do some diggin'! ok yes I will...but do u think flushing a loo that drains into a septic tank here at Horror house..half way up a hill...that ultimately drains into a swamp will help John?...or should I jaunt nearer the sea and inflict my company on a friend who lives Dover way just to flush his loos.....should we all have designated time?...think this needs careful planning...don't worry John..there is a plan hatching.......

Stuffed again !!!
Another waste of time getting up ................... 0200 tide was 15 minutes late and 3 and a half points below prediction.
It didn't even reach the level of yesterday afternoon it just crept over the 5.9 marker on the board.
This is starting to get me down
