Decided to do the full navagatable section of the canal today, then walk the 5 miles of un-navigable section to the next local pub.. a fantastic and unbelievably interesting stroll!! Leaving Maesbury Marsh...pass over River aqueduct.. heading to final liftbridge on the section before the winding hole and normal turn around point.. past the final boat moorings and disused ex jetty.. to the end of the 'official' navigation.. motive on bridge above dog.. The next 300 yards or so are Still navigatable but there's no Turning point so you need back all the way backl out to the winding ole some 500 yes!😱 Fully restored and as new liftbridge...permanently 'up' to keep farmer private!! fantastic peaceful canalside property..beautiful place.. Onwards under recently done bridge.. Thro to the final section of 'unofficially navigatable' section...

Work has started rebuilding the bridge entry @ bridge 84 Completely refined and new sides built.. Newt crossings built to keep them safe! Excavations showing the profile of the new canal And looking further ahead, original outline still clearly visible..

I wonder who will give us those matched funds after Brexit. From the taxes paid by all the Romanian gypsies selling The Big Issue, of course. Don't forget all the Afghans jumping out of lorries all round the country who have come here to put in their effort to make the economy grow. A country that is dependent on handouts from the EU is a failure.

Thanks for the photos.
We walked to Llanymynech along the route about 6 years ago. It's disappointing to see how slow progress is, but progress is progress.

Another mile and a half or so and another bridge Random distance marker still in place Canal route gets a bit overgrown.. Til finally we hit another watered section just outside Llanymynech And the famous tea thieving ' diving dog' takes a cooling off dip 👍
