Oh I'd so love nothing better than to rehome both of them. We lost Gabby & Zebby 3 years ago (both in their 15th year) and it's only been the last few months that we've agreed it's about time we have some new fur balls in our lives.
Do you think it's the boat they don't like or living in a Marina? We are cc'ers on a WB, do you think there would be any chance they might settle in with us?
If not, I do hope you find some loving land lubber hoomans for them

lol you lot DO go off on tangents... er, I'm not on Pre-mod... what I meant was that when you post something in wanted/for sale etc, they have to be approved by a mod before they show... that's all. The cats ARE already on board and have been for a few months... George just hates it. massively over-grooming. Vets suggestion is to plug a fellway "drug" thingy in to the mains sockets - er hello, I dont want him to be unhappy but as the inverter uses 6ah to be "on" that's a lot of charging required to drug a cat! They will NOT be turned into Kebabs thank you Vince... - I suppose I could make a batch of curry though ?... Sox is a brilliant mouser though - rarely a day goes by that she doesn't bring one back for me! or a shrew... I dont mind if they are already dead, but when she drops a live on, it's all I can do to catch the darn thing before it dissapears down the gap behind the cassette toilet and into the under-dinette storage area where the fin rads are. That plug in thing is actually quite good. Obviously not on your set up but it really helps a stressed cat. I'm not sure it drugs then per se but does calm them.

If not, I do hope you find some loving land lubber hoomans for them IF only you were land-lubbers...For George it's definitely the boat - or to be more precise, the engine. HE's always been a sensitive fella - more so since he got into a fight with bigger chap a few years ago whilst defending his territory *the house is a corner plot and EVERY cat in the area use it as a thoroughfare*. We're on a towpath mooring and of course it's a very popular spot for dog walkers - off leads are the problems as he ended up stuck up a hawthorn tree with bramble spiikes stuck to his fur and trapping him. SOX on the other hand, fights back and has yet to meet a dog she can't control! It's odd really how different they both are - especially considering they're from the same litter and have had exactly the same life experiences.

If I thought our resident mouser would tolerate company I'd have them in a heartbeat, but he is very antisocial where any other animal (other than mice) are concerned. And he only likes the much as a quick snack or game..

It's odd really how different they both are - especially considering they're from the same litter and have had exactly the same life experiences. Completely understand. Neither of ours liked the engine running regardless of moving or just charging the batteries. After about 5-6 months they got to the point of "tolerating" it, to the point they no longer ran to hid behind a bed or the sofa. Zebby even got to the point of coming out to the stern and wrapping himself around Dave's legs whilst traveling a couple of times that he forgot to shut the back doors before setting off. As with George & Sox, ours were brother & sister and had completely different personalities, Gabby being the hunter and somewhat aloof, Zebby being Very clumsy and a lap cat who always bullied his sister if she got to the primo spot by the stove before he got it They were both trained to come to a whistle we could both do, it always meant a feed of tuna for them, but we didn't just do it when we wanted to move so they didn't associate the whistle/tuna with the engine running or the boat moving. Never failed and only once were we held up from moving due to a missing fur ball. (Long story)

Talking of critters going missing, we went for a walk from Stanley Ferry over the blue bridge at the top end of the cut into the wetlands beyond. Went up the lane towards Hurst a little, returned and sat for a picnic, dog went missing, w awalker said she was heading for Hurst. So followed and found the lovely cafe at Hurst. Got a call from the car sales garage just near river etc in Wakefield, the car salesman had her. As I was ringing a taxi I got another call, dog escaped his clutches. So walked back to the boat and as I was dialing 101 she appeared on the far bank! She must have covered 10 miles in the 3 hours or so. She had followed our trail up the path to Hurst, carried on when it went cold, all the way to Wakefield, down the main road. Then returned maybe the same way. Dog of little brain!
The cafe at Hurst is to be recommended btw, about an hour's walk from the moorings.

Hurst ? I've never heard of the place... will get googling! Hurst is a village built around a mansion/manor house. It's on the hill across the river, over the blue footbridge at the entrance to the cut. We found the place when we were floodlocked for a week there. They'd probably grumble at me calling them a "cafe", it's a posh tearoom really, but good food!

That's the one, you have passed the initiative test. Most of the letters are the same. Heath, not Hurst. One is a kiddy fiddler, the other has a diamond skull and smells of rotten fish.

Whats that stuff calledβ¦catnip or something?
When I re-homed a rescue she was really stressed for months, hiding under beds/couches and wasn't a happy girl. then used cat nip? and she settled right in almost immediately. then was a happy Kitty for the next 18 years.
