Cheers Rog -who knows if it will "work" but it's worth a go... and if nothing else, We'll get better at boating. I need to continue website building to get the other routes up there... have to admit, I HATE doing that. I'm applying the kiss approach and trying to keep it VERY simple. I think anyone who runs a guest home of some shape or description has to be pretty tolerant and look forward to the positives of meeting new people. I don't think it's something for those who see it purely as a revenue stream. I did wonder when I read your concerns about personal hygiene whether it would be the right venture for you. You could try only targeting potential customers who fit your ideal criteria. I knew a chap many years ago who run a B&B purely for cross dressers. It worked for him (her?) as most of his customers had similar interests! Is that a market for ginger benders who don't like sweaty bum smells? - I hope not lol. I get your point but whilst it IS a means to an end, we can see the potential to meet all sorts of people who might enrich our lives - in different ways and as such, embrace the potential "life learning" as we go along ... ergo, a double bonus.

I think you're probably worrying too much. If you're nice and you're confident and calm, your guests will join in and you'll all have a jolly nice time. If the odd one is a bit smelly, that's life, but stinkies are people too and not all can help it. What if one has a colostomy for instance, would you dump them off?

No of course not - a couple of my uncles ended up with them as result of bowel cancers - they didn't smell though... Andy pointed out the other day that his mate (and undertaker) puts some stuff in his nostrils to block out smells - we can always use that (whatever it is) for a worse case scenario. God - I hope no one dies on us!

Its a good point really. Some people have a different view of personal hygiene. I bath about once a week but i'm actually a really nice person to have about. Well that's what I tell myself. But seriously you need to lower your standards or you are going to get into trouble. Maybe you could just try it for a few weeks. Apparently people who don't wash much exude some fairly powerful pheromones (works for me) so you may find you like it after a while and it will definitely reduce fresh water consumption and hot water production demand Might actually boost profits !

To be fair, if the boat is spick and span and you two are well turn2d out. Most people would be shamed into doing the same.

The business will fail if you dont lighten up with your website details.

I used bath as a generic term for full body washing.
I generally drink lager and look at my phone in the bath (which reminds me its bath day !)

Looks a bit like the latest kickstarter "electric bath" with steering wheel installation and brushless electric inboard motor. Its very awkward trying to steer a bath with a tiller as it capsizes when you attempt to turn round.
Great product I'm in.

Ok, Iβve just looked at your website and noticed a few spelling errors, sorry to come across as a school marm, but first impressions and all that. Whilst most people in this day and age have no problem with lifestyles which are different from their own, do you think that you need to mention that you and Andy are gay? Sharing a narrow boat with a raging homophobe could be βinterestingβ

no - please do highlight spelling and typos - I'm rubbish at proof reading my writing as my brain sees what I've written, RATHER than what is there if you follow...
I'm going to bung a bit under " about" with a photo of us together that might make it obvious - without shouting about it... I mean, whilst folk are on, it's not like we'll be sharing a bed lol.

After reading the website and putting two and two together coming up with five, π I'd be inclined to become a stinky for the week if I booked with you.... Two poofs ( one gingaππ±) , self fitted out boat, insistent on regular nudie shower room use... Hmmmm... Pinhole camera / recording equipment alert!!π±π±

Having read the website. It gives a nice informal vibe which would prepare them for what I'm guseeing an informal time.
You mention travel insurance to cover cancellation bit what about insurance to cover them whilst they are aboard. Accidents do happen.

I know it's not what you have in mind but you could corner a market in well off well scrubbed gay couples and whack your prices right up. π Rather than cutting out what this thread has condemned as "over fussy", go for it big time and see what happens.
