It's already Oct 1st in Tokyo, the clock has started ticking. See you in a month, fatty Thought you'd been threatening us all with a visit next weekend?? Yes, 'tis be true. But it's also true that it's already Tuesday in other parts of the world. Tokyo in mind as have just had an invite to a wedding there. I know Finnair flies direct but that's a bit boring, I had a rummage and rather fancy Cathay Pacific. I did look at Thai but this comment put me off: "Tired looking crew that certainly do not know what a smile even is. Crew could not serve dinner quick enough - almost felt like it was thrown at us. Ran out of salty snacks prior to this, and crew member said he would come back with more, but never did"

Thought you'd been threatening us all with a visit next weekend?? Crew could not serve dinner quick enough - almost felt like it was thrown at us. How could that possibly be a bad thing? Bizarre. Surely that's what you want on a long flight, fast service with the food, fast service with several glasses of wine, then alcohol induced sleep to kill the boredom.

I prefer a leisurely drinkypoos before my meal, and for the meal to be served courteously and appetizingly. Goodness knows what it is, though, on a Chinese airline - pickled eyes of Hong Kong dissenters presented as 'olives'? When offered a glass of bubbles, Bond remarks "better make that two" .

I never had you down as a smart east asian gentleman of obvious charm and wherewithal who prefers to fly Singapore Airlines. ............................ PS: I still don't.

All I care about on flights is choosing an aisle seat, so I can use the toilet regularly to have a sly vape. Also try to predict which seats will be served first with food and wine, I hate it when others are guzzling wine and stuffing their faces with food while I'm sat there just waiting. Just behind half way, if there's an exit there is usually a good bet. Seats at the front would be a good bet as well but these always seem to get booked early. Not sure why, maybe those booking them think they're going to get there earlier or something? Being towards the rear is good if the flight isn't full. You're not supposed to change seats until the flight has taken off but as soon as the doors close, if there's a row of seats free, grab fast!
I hope I'm never on the same flight as any members here, otherwise I might just have shot myself in the foot.
Edit: another tip. If the airline is mean with the alcohol (Qatar, Etihad for example) try to get drinks off different members of staff. Get up and go and ask for one rather than waiting in your seat, for example. Doing it this way the staff won't realise you're drinking away all the profit they're making from your booking.
