Was the call, by any chance, from a gentleman called Peter Moore ? To be honest I didn't get his name but he was very helpful and the email with the paperwork/invoice has come through... why? - Who's Peter Moore? He's a good, old friend and one of the most decent, helpful and genuine people I've ever known. I would guess he's probably retired by now, but the last time I bumped into him he was British Waterways Business/Trade boat Licence Manager.

The chap I've been dealing with is Richard Delves - he's been very helpful and not at all obstructive... fast to respond to emails and this chap was (I presume) instructed by him to collect the money/do the paperwork. To be fair, thus far for us - all our dealings with crt have been very good... even the contractors here have the sense NOT to cut the grass on our mooring - knowing I'll put my own stripes in. Whilst I do have concerns over how it will all pan out (them borrowing 150m quid etc) - which coincides with an article I read, I'm hoping someone there has a bigger picture and clever way to pull things good... time will tell. In the meanwhile, we're going to continue on our course and have as many adventures as we can before infirmity presides, :-)

Thanks for that - I've done a leaflet print (A5) on vista print this after so when it arrives in the post, will scan and email.... much appreciated. I've done a post on the other side in the holidays section asking if folk might pass on the web address - who knows... we might actually not have to dip into the vat return It would help with giving my email address. wynollerenshaw@yahoo.co.uk Good time of year to start and after all the effort its well deserved kida get em rolling in Going over to have a look, i like to see what replies folk get over there, a lot of the time completely different from other places. Cheers - not much response over there which is a little disappointing... but old threads do get resurrected from time to time so it might just flag up if someone does a search.

I can confirm that Peter Moore is a decent and genuine person, he helped me get my traders licence sorted a couple of years ago I can also state that he is still working for CaRT, I can't remember his job tittle exactly but I believe he's the business manager for the Midlands and North Wales. I know this as I've emailed him today with a business proposal. He emailed back to say he'd forwarded to Ricard Delves as the person best placed to deal with it. Both Peter and Richard have already responded, glad to hear that Richard seems to be a straight up bloke like Peter.

I just got the fliers (flyers?) back from Vista-print... I've scanned and uploaded to a shared album... I hope this works and thanks to everyone who's offered to print one out to shove up somewhere...

This little tool, directlink, works a treat for sharing, paste the URL it produces into the image box directlink.booogle.net

thank you folks... We both appreciate it - it's hard trying to get known without full on advertising.

Just an observation but it looks like the printer has used a capital O rather than the number zero for the phone number on page 2. If only printing it doesn't matter, but if on the web site people may get problems if they click on the phone number

HOW lovely people are.
This morning I had an enquiry from the website form for a couple of days "taster" - if possible in March/April. Given the licence starts on 1st April and our first cruise is the 10th,I was ale to cobble together a 2 night one from here to Cooper bridge and back - with an explanation that if the river is angry we can only go the other way and play around on the aire and calder locks to woodnook and back.
Anyway - I've had a lovely exchange of mails and they've booked (and paid for in full) a 2 night taster AND they'll bring champagne with them cause it's the "maiden voyage"... isn't that smashing?
I SO hope they're not vegan!!!
