It was good the first time around, a second airing won't harm I smell something fishy, and I'm not talking about the contents of Baldrick's apple crumble.

It's obviously a crock of crap and they are doing their best to contractually trap some poor wooden-headed sap into paying up even after the survey results come back.

Funny, ain't it? I sent the seller a long list of questions about that boat. He didn't get back to me.

Can they keep the Β£1000 though if paid through paypal, i was under the impression they always favour the buyer and if you were to pay then pull out you would still be able to raise a case and receive monies back?
Hopefully nobody bids...

Hopefully nobody bids... They sold a boat not long ago for just over 28k and have a feedback for it. I would not be paying a penny to them untill the boat was checked out and as for there terms they are non applicable as ebay can only set terms of sale for there site. There just trying to get around the ebay and paypal fees, on a 30k item it would cost them around 4k in fees alone..

Paypal fee just on there own are would be Β£1020.20. and thats just the transfer fee from the buyer to the seller, not counting the ebay fee as it varies because this is classed as a vehicle, so it might not be 4k but it not 20p like you think...

I didn't say it was free, but your Β£4000 is three times the percentage I paid to a broker who took the pics, wrote the words, showed people round the boat, put it on their website and apollo duck, did the bargaining and vouched for the boats history.

so if I sell the FabergΓ© egg I bought at a charity shop for 75p on eBay and it achieves Β£5million I only pay Β£250 seller fees? That seems like a bargain
