Hello all, just been to the polling station at a school by my house, they didn't tell me that the old school had been knocked down and a new one built at another location, but still had the same address The dog enjoyed the walk though. Anyway voted to leave the EU for so many reasons, too many to list. But what I did notice on the ballet paper was the following. There is a box to put your X in but it states "place your X next to what you want to vote" & not place your X in the box for what you want to vote for. Not a problem? Well tell the three older ladies that had a chat between themselves about what to do. I think this will confuse more than a few people. Anyway hope you all voted & have a great day. Rob

Rob I wonder if anyone will slip into automatic texting mode and put 2 or more X's. Xxx Anyone know when the final results might come out?

I read the result should be declared between 04:00 and 07:00 tomorrow.

I was surprised that I was not asked to prove my identity. In the booths they provided pencils! Luckily I had a biro. but be careful what you say on social media - like this website - until polling closes.
What is the law?
Rules around photography and publishing in elections are covered by the 1983 Representation of the People Act, which states that:
No person shall, in the case of an election to which this section applies, publish before the poll is closed
(a) any statement relating to the way in which voters have voted at the election where that statement is (or might reasonably be taken to be) based on information given by voters after they have voted, or
(b) any forecast as to the result of the election which is (or might reasonably be taken to be) based on information so given.
So, I reckon it's OK to say how YOU voted but not OK to collate any data on how people in general voted. (obviously, the chance og getting prosecuted is slim)

I was just chatting with a lass at work about this, she said she would be taking a pen with her, she has no conception of the number of people that would have to be involved in this kind of conspiricy and trying to keep that quiet would just not happen. Besides, if they were going to nobble any vote they would just spoil the papers, why spend time rubbing stuff out....or even a pile of votes suddenly going up in smoke would be far more effective.

How do you vote? I vote "Remain"!
Which did you vote for? I voted for leaving!

According to the Electoral Commission, they have always provided pencils but you're free to use your own pen.

My vote was cast ages ago. For years I've used the postal vote as work commitments have always made getting to a polling station difficult. Just as well I do postal vote really, I'm sat on the boat in Downham Market 57 road miles away from home, the rail link would be torturous - Downham to Ely, Ely to Peterborough, X4 bus from Peterborough to Weldon then a Taxi to Stanion, repeat in reverse to get back. Bugger that for a game of soldiers

Typical would be 7 stages by 5 different modes of transport: boat, walk, bus, train, train, bus, Landrover. At least the bus bits are free (gotta be some perks to growing old!)

It's very easy to register for a postal vote, and more importantly it doesn't cost a penny to vote. I'd say you are an ideal candidate!
