I don’t think any newcomer would be that crass, bold and rude. I think it is a windup. Of course, I could be wrong, but I doubt it. not often your right, but your wrong again.

I'd say it was more like dishing out what was deserved. Internet convention be bollocksed - it's an excuse for some knobs to make themselves feel superior. No harm comes from reading in capital letters, it's nice and bold, clearly and easily understood. I've been hand writing in capitals since I left school, no one has ever complained that my written work is shouty, the only important thing is for all the information contained within it to be accurate and easily understood. I can't see why anyone should get their knickers in a twist over it being used in a poxy canal forum.

I’m not saying the reposts weren’t deserved, just that the whole tone of it doesn’t strike me as being from some “social media virgin”. Block capitals are slightly harder to read than lower case. Although I too tend to hand write in block capitals, but that is because my joined up writing is illegible.

Because Im aware of how much bullshit you spout. To start with I thought it might be you, with your perpetual inability to spell “you’re”, but then I realised it would take a tiny spark of intelligence and initiative. So clearly not.

Because Im aware of how much bullshit you spout. , with your perpetual inability to spell “you’re”, as I've pointed out before my perpetual inability is called dyslexia, so it's not going to go away. Ps your the one who started making claims that you can't prove..

I take it your lysdexia means you can’t read plain English? Otherwise you wouldn’t think “I have a feeling it is someone already in this place.” is some sort of claim that would have to be proven.

We share your last sentence in common though - freed from the tyranny of school teachers demanding lowercase at the very least and joined up writing being of greater preference I adopted uppercase pretty smartish at Tech.

I just picked up on the irony of “I WRITE IN CAPs SO THAT I CAN SEE WHAT I AM WRITING AND NOT MAKE ANY SPELLING MISTAKES”. Anyone who is concerned not to make any spelling mistakes would surely also want to make a reasonable stab at punctuation, but that chap didn’t.

Let the fella feel comfortable with his spellink first, then progress onto punkchewation. It's a bit like anyone learning to fly and navigate at the same time. Everyone has different mental abilities, just some take a little longer to get past the finishing post than other's. But if they're encouraged, they soon catch up.

What you need to understand Mr TellyMackus is that a person may be very intelligent in many ways, yet have difficulty with written language, the English language particularly being a difficult language to master as it does not follow basic linguistic rules, i.e. that every written letter is always pronounced in exactly the same way. Russian is a beautifully simple language, very easy to learn, simply because it has not been bastardised in the way that English has, mostly by pretentious people in the Victorian era who felt that their superior education enabled them to make "improvements" to what had come before. Anyway, here's a rather pleasant song about dyslexia for you to enjoy, performed by a very successful, if dyslexic songwriter, Natalie Merchant.
