Well you wouldnβt know where your wires go, thatβs for sure! Yes we might even have to read the manual. Some people seem to find that quite difficult!

On the same subject, sort of, clearing out old photos I came across this one of our batteries. With the Google Photos link (to same photo) you can zoom in. photos.app.goo.gl/gaVXLQdEuApet22x6

With the Google link (to same photo) Any chance you can find and post any other equally fascinating pictures of your boat for us to zoom into? Maybe the weed-hatch in closed position, the front door frame / hinges or your toilet cassette handle whilst inserted to the toilet housing? Being off work and having time on my hands Im really struggling to contain my excitement at the anticipation of more of your interesting pics!π

Will this do, Sweetheart? If I'd known you were going to admire this I'd have given it a wipe first. I can put it to Google Photos if you'd like to zoom in?

Shoddy / dreadful attention to detail..π Cable ties left not trimmed is just lazy, tie wraps trimmed with the wrong sort of cutters leaving razor sharp 'barbs' ready to cut you open and infect you with all the dirt attached to them are dreadful, Highly Dangerous and shows complete disreguard for anyone working on or near the offending item, Normally performed by cowboys, bodgers or general dumbasses!
Very poor showing!!
( nicely made off fitting thoπ)
Hope your toilet cassette handle isnt as offensive as that wiring.π

I've never got round to looking at the cable ties in the engine 'ole - not my work. I agree with you, well spotted. We don't know the history of our boat, who did what, before we bought it. At the moment everything works, and we are getting it into better and better shape.
I did buy some proper decent expensive wire strippers a couple of years ago, and have put them to use, after having looked videos on Youtube how to strip cables and crimp them.
Our boat would be in much, much better shape if we lived in England / not far from the boat. Our main aim is to travel in the boat, that's what it's for, and secondly to get it into a good condition. It is pretty good-looking inside and out now, and we are proud with our efforts. However, it would be nice to have 'experts' come along and point out things that could be improved.

The red wire is a positive. I'm positive about it.

As for cable ties I prefer them uncut because cutting them introduces a nasty sharp edge. Ok it looks untidy but at least it won't slice your hands up

I do not cut them with side cutters as that still leaves a sharp edge, I prefer to trim them with a stanley knife as I find this allows you to trim tight against the buckle without leaving any corners available to slice yourself on.
anyway if you really want a horrid edge to slice yourself to ribbons with then try using stainless steel cable ties
