OK, I'm baffled by the choice so any input on which machine I should get would be appreciated. Don't want to pay silly money, up to £130 ish and what pods given I like Costa flat white. Should have said coffee pod machine Phil

£130 ish but but but ..... a cafetiere = £5 to £6 ....... 250 grammes Taylors of Harrogate ground coffee = £5 ish pounds depending on blend

what delta said. Get a stove top, french press, aeropress or an oomph then a milk frother, spend the money on quality beans, not supermarket shit but something from one of these roasters. www.hasbean.co.uk/ravecoffee.co.uk/

I hate coffee. These pod machines seem to be very expensive and result in the coffee being more expensive and more rubbish. Bad all round. The woman likes coffee she uses one of those hexagonal aluminium things on the gas ring.

Academic now because SWMBO has bought summat from eBay, I'll let you know how it pans out. Phil

My sis has a pod coffee thing and uses it lots..I stick instant in a cup or use a filter one..but don't drink much coffee as its to strong

Being an inveterate coffee snob is Ok if you have the time to indulge the habit. For the rest of us a passable cup of caffeine that doesn't cost the earth (both financially and materially!) Is more than good enough.
