You had a decent little espresso machine if it was the gaggia classic, paired with a decent grinder you would have got a good brew out of it, Still got it actually, but it is stored away under the well deck next to the water tank. But having never had an urge to get it out since we got the Nespresso about 4 years ago, I suppose we should give it away/sell it/chuck it out. If it’s a classic I’ll take it off you

We’ve got a Cubika at home gathering dust, but I think the one on the boat is a different Gaggia model. It will have been selected for being small. Next time I’m down on the boat I’ll have a look.

I like coffee. Black no sugar. Strong. Don't care how it's made if it tastes ok. Tea the same. The rest is just window dressing in my view. I of course realise that I like others who commented are "thick" because we don't agree with Telemachus. I think I can live with that Rog Ah we have something in common. I too like strong, black and sweet.
Oh no wait a minute, that is my men.
Visions of you chasing Roger the cabin boy with a tin of shoe black, "don't worry it will wash off darling".

As for Coffee pod machines, nah, a creation of the devil. Producing unnecessary plastic waste, which shouldn't be burnt. If I smell burning plastic from a boat chimney I piss down it. Nice coffee in a cafetiere, or sometimes the stove top espresso. Sometimes fresh ground beans with a hand grinder. Coop fair-trade Ethiopian at the moment.

Such power! Telemachus can arrange a fight to the death between bfg and froggy over his unwanted toy. He could sell tickets. Bags I the popcorn franchise. (You're all too fussy to have a coffee one ) Rog

We can take it to you if you can wait until Aug 2019.... Fox's choice: and then add a quarter of a teaspoon of this: with some of these

Jane drinks decaff, but still likes strong coffee.
Greggs use bags for decaff and she uses two if we go.
At Costa Jane has an extra shot of decaff.
Apparently Cafe Nero is the best decaff coffee, good strong flavour.

BFG Can have the cubika, not as good as no OPV fitted, the classic has the OPV so you can drop the pressure down a tad, making a better brew! Ill give you £50 for the classic if thats what you, if its working.

A fairly civilised discussion on Coffee and Foxy sticks an unrelated Daily Mail link in.
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose!

It's a perfectly valid boat-related subject.

It's a perfectly valid boat-related subject. Dorks on inflatable mattress is a bit tenuous - putting it in a thread about coffee machines for Phil's house even more so.... I'm also amazed that a self confessed whisky guzzler drinks Nescafe by choice (I'm not even going to mention that sugary powdered shite you mix it with!) we only have it at work when someone donates it to us. The offerings from Aldi and Co Op fair trade coffee are head and shoulders above the 80's throwback you have in the cupboard. One short step to Maxwell House and Birds Mellow Yellow....

I hate queueing behind people in coffee houses that want (basically) a frigging trifle, whilst I'm waiting for black coffee.
The names of stuff in Costa and the like are mind blowing.
It strikes me that they once tried coffee, didn't like it, so decided to add milk, cream, marsh mallows, chocolate, hundreds and thousands, and finally sugar.
I don't know what it tastes like but it can't taste like coffee.
