My wife,Ali, has sent me up the Ashby while she gardens at our home. Currently sat in the pub at Shackerstone. My life is good. I do have a couple of paint touch ups to do so not all play this week.

Lovely canal the Ashby. Try not to get too stressed Rog This may be a bit controversial but I find the Ashby canal as boring as watching a game of rugby.

I spent some of my first winter aboard on the Ashby. 1994/5. There used to be a butcher and a shop at Stoke Golding. I moored near a bend somewhere and used to walk up there. I remember finding coal in the dredgings they had put on the towpath.
Quite isolated and relaxing but a little boring due to no locks. I never went to any pubs there.

And you think anyone will be surprised by that statement? We all know you're southern ... probably into Polo or golf when not murdering sex workers. Rog
