Calorific value kJ/kg
Brazier 31,400 Excel 32,000 Homefire 32,275 Phurnacite 32,809
Not a huge amount of difference. I hate the stink of Excel.
I get on fine with Brazier as the primary heating on my barge but I do buy it partly because of the easily handled 10kg bags. If I could get Homefire in 10kg bags for sensible price I would use that.

I prefer 10kg bags as I struggle lugging the 25kg bags up the garden.

I hand balled half a ton of 10kg bags onto my boat from land the other day and never felt a thing. If it had been 25kg bags I probably would of needed to visit the quack about a pulled muscle again.

Just 1 star for B&M: Birmingham, Minworth store routinely stocks out of date Smiths crisps on their shelves without consumer warning & when challenged replied with "we can sell them for a month after their use by date!" uk.trustpilot.com/review/bmstores.co.ukI realise it's not your complaint but there is nothing in law to prevent a store selling something after it's best before date. however use by is a different matter and can lead to huge fines.

Fifty 10kg bags Twenty 25kg bags
If it had been the 25kg bags I would have done myself an injury but with 10kg bags I hardly noticed it.
