Well I'm now the proud owner of a boat!
Still living in the monstrocity for a few days, only checked on the boat once an hour since taking ownership.... is this normal (no need to answer...).
Wish me luck.
LUCK!!!
Of the best kind.
AND I LOVE LUCY!! Met xx
Sorry - just managed to get back online.....

anyway, pendant alert. surely your not a real boater till you fall in. I'm refusing to fall in. your not a real boater till you fall in from a capsized sailing dinghy. Failing in when in charge of a narrow boat is on a par with falling off a motorbike after doing direct access and getting a power ranger machine. You've got to earn your stripes in the lower capacity classes to be called a proper something or other (insert what you like after proper ) damn I've done that many a time and from a kayak. ive been in the sea many a time.

Can you contact the previous owners and ask them for info about the boat? Yes I can, but he is worse (in a funny way) than most Thunderboaters. I'll get a straight answer from if if I really need it....but I'll have to prove I need it... peculiar or ha ha ?

Noticed in this thread talk of secrets a boat holds. Well our last boat had a secret. Checking all the keys and spare key's when we moved on brought to light a key labelled "SAFE I searched everywhere but never found a safe so assumed that it had been removed when we bought her. Sooòo after a couple of years I came across this key again and launched it. About a month later I had to replace the water pump and while laying on my belly under the well deck I noticed a odd seam in the carpet, picked at it and it lifted to reveal.....a SAFE!! Never did get it open

SAFE is still safely aboard as it is an integral part of the boat. Removal would entail the use of as gas axe Phil

Removal would entail the use of as gas axe Phil a 'gas axe?'..that sounds most exciting.. meanwhile i trot off to store with crowbars, metal stakes, sledge hammers, Ants perang knife, dads ancient antique front loader gun and I just wonder what the boys in blue would say if got stopped.

Patty, phil70 means the Red and Black spanner. My life would be much more difficult without that, an angle grinder and a plasma cutter.

The highly useful bit of kit phil70 and I are referring to is an Oxy Acetylene torch. Can be used with propane but welding is out of the window due to the lower flame temperature.
