You fins that you don't notice the pumps after a while but the bloody horseflies' are a whole different thing. Always go for the legs, I currently have 9 bites on my legs, they come up in blisters, from the knees down I look like Spotty Muldoon. (at Islehan on the Lark) Phil I'd got it in my head you were at Little Ouse moorings. Mrs G is on the throttle now, heading back to prickwillilow, wished I had seen your post sooner, We'd have looked you up! What a day to be out boating in the fens, horse flies aside it's glorious. Mrs G is winning the bite count, she's a bit tastier than me though Thats not what the big Black fella you went on a dirty weekend to Berlin with said.

Bavaria and Berlin are a few miles apart

I see you got your 'rs' in a trist! Yes its very important not to get ones a'rs in a tryst! What's the point of a tryst if you can't get a few a'rs in?

On the way home from the yoghurt pot at Littleport today took a side trip to Judes Ferry at lunchtime but no sign of Gazza so continued on back to Essex. Hopefully will be back there for a few days from Wednesday or Thursday then home again but finally back up there in a couple of weeks to head off up towards Huntingdon.

We were there from around 9-1, the old girl was treated to a new 4900 impeller and a replacement shitflo domestic pump while we waited for the pub to open. Was expecting an afternoon session there, but the lacklustre Menu meant as soon as we had finished our carvery?! Baguette we were on our toes. Splash of water and a dog shower courtesy of the EA at prickwillow

Gazza, I just have no idea how you can stay moored next to a running diesel engine all day!

The old perky sounded better than aa keel cooled narrow boat engine. Proper boats are raw water cooled and go splosh splash.
I would have been less impressed if it was a frame Genny though..

Finally back fen furtling, stayed on board last night and set off nice and early for Ely, it was quite crowded, probably because I got there before most of those moving on had got up. Wandered up to the Cathedral and had a look round and bought a few foodie bits in the market. Quick cup of coffee ( I forgot to buy fresh milk and I detest long life in tea, fortunately I don't mind it in coffee) and set off again. Now moored up on Old West River just above the junction with the Cam for a late lunch and a beer. Feel quite knackered so will probably stay here until morning. I have to be back in Benfleet on Monday so I don't want a long run before the drive back. Everything effort still leaves me knackered but things are definitely improving !!!
