As for furrin travel I obviously have to go to France as my kids are French and did go to Switzerland once but other than that its Englandland. Its a great country Yes OK wales and Scottish land are okay scenerywise as well. There really is no need to travel off this island unless you really have to.

Yes but that's old history.
I have often wondered if buying property in English seaside resort towns might be a good plan. With any luck there will eventually be some sort of realisation that holidaying in Englandland is actually OK. Global warming means it no longer rains in summer here.
They do cheap flights to Ramsgate apparently or did the airport close. Maybe it will reopen along with the ferry terminal.
Ramsgate - the new Ibiza.
Or not

Goa was OK 10 or more years ago apart from the many Israelis that infested the place and still do. Nowadays you have to contend with legions of Russians as well so although it has a very nice climate from November until February, it's pretty cheap and the food is great, I think there are better places to go nowadays.

Ann Gloag, of Stagecoach fame, bought it for £1, pledging to keep it open, then closed it, gave all the staff the boot and then sold it off for a mint.

Seems a bit of a shame really especially with the talk of a new airport for London, HS1 virtually passing Manston, and the high unemployment in Thanet.

I suppose I am very lucky, my go faster moments were pre speed camera days, when the Old Bill were inclined to take a more lenient vie, providing the road conditions were suitable and the only neck being risked was your own. Fast bikes in my youth would rings round plod mobiles ...... that's why they purchased a few of the coolest police cars ever daimler_sp250_1 by mudlarker2, on Flickr and it was a genuine Police car !!! fdd8ac949b7f7246ff689f880b62eacb--fuzz-police-vehicles by mudlarker2, on Flickr Mid 60's, I had the reg no of one such plod mobile written on the sunvisor of my A30. no, I wouldn't have been able to outrun it!

Ive been on the awareness course before...Far easier, as Dogless says, to just sit there and listen! I do struggle with the part where braking distances are mentioned, despite the ‘reaction time’ not altering, the actual stopping time has tumbled 10 fold! Ive owned a fully restored, drum brake equipt 1956 Austin A30 ( it was my wedding car in 1992👍) and to compare stopping distances rolled out from when 'this’ ruled the roads and the date the highway code recommendations were printed to nowadays & my 530hp Techart Porsche Turbo with Ceramic discs & 6 pot calipers is, quite frankly, laughable!! But hey...speeding kills, never a mention of bad driving ultimately being the cause! I did a driving awareness course at Silverstone a couple of years back, (no, I hadn't been a naughty boy). When braking distances were mentioned, I disputed the actual stopping distances as modern cars have so much better braking systems. My comment was expertly ignored! Even a Hyundai i10 will comprehensively out brake an A30! Speeding like falling doesn't kill, generally it is the sudden stop at the end that does!!!
