Obviously it won't be mine for very long, Dickhead Dunkley or his barrister will be riding around on it soon when it is seized as part of the libel settlement. But it's a fun little project for now. I assume you have been taken in by his "project fear" sense of humour.

£200? Was it a stolen one? Being serious for a brief moment, there is a near immaculate ET2, same colour, for sale on ebay at the moment, a year or so newer than mine and with 6,000 miles on the clock and five months' MOT (mine has done 28,000 miles and has no MOT) for £550 ono. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/piaggio-vespa-et2-50cc/323611190091?hash=item4b58bae34b:g:PO0AAOSwNqRcG6pV:rk:10:pf:0So by the time I've finished, with all the £10s and £20s I'm spending on filler, primer, paint, the Dremel-a-like, the MOT etc etc etc, I'll almost certainly end up having spent more than that on it. But then I'll have had a lot of fun restoring it.

Anyway its awfully unpatriotic to buy Italian junk. I would be looking at Japanese personally.

Also, I needed a sticker to cover up where I took off the tax disc holder on the kick panel and put some filler in the bolt hole and I found this on ebay. I ran it past my boys and they both think it is great, I feel it's important that I am down there "wiv da kidz".

If there's anything that could make you look more ridiculous on your scooter, it's that sticker.
The good thing is, I don't think the solicitors will want to take possession with that on display.

Kidspeak, innit? I have twin boys and they regularly taunt each other with "your mum". I did point out to them the flaw in their logic.

Well, it's the moment you've all been waiting for, an update on the Funky Moped. At the weekend I rubbed down, primed and sprayed the spare rear wheel, which I will put on as soon as I can persuade the exhaust system to part company with the rest of the bike. The Dremel-a-like arrived today so I'll probably do that at the weekend, although one of the other boaters has a motorbike trailer and he's offered to take the bike to his garage and is confidant he can get it off with air tools. Then I took the luggage rack off as it was looking a bit tatty so I tarted that up a bit too. And then today I finished work early so I got the Funky Moped onto its side, and the floorpan got attacked with an old screwdriver, a wire brush and a detail sander before being liberally bathed in Kurust. When it has cured, the floorpan will be getting two coats of some bitumen based black paint left over from a previous blacking job. I still have the exhaust to paint, and I'm going to restore the oxidised plastic parts using a hot air paint gun, before turning my attention to the bodywork (although I'll wait for warmer weather before spraying that in). I'm still confident about getting it on the road in January...

After years of being completely naff, mopeds are suddenly uber-trendy due to the moped-based crime wave. I'm fully expecting to get a tug from the Filth and for them to do a double-take when the rider takes off his crash helmet to reveal a white coffin-dodger and not a black teenager.

I saw this rather wicked bit of kit today. Looks a bit scrappy. I spotted it in Barking while acquiring some cans of red diesel. Intrigued to know what it is as I do not recall seeing a moped with two back wheels. Piaggio do the twin front wheel weird things but this looks like a good load carrier . peterboat might know what it is It says Jinn on the box so I wondered if it was for doing alcohol acquisition logistics but having looked it up that is the name of a food delivery company not the actual make of the vehicle

I thought stabby was under 60 (or maybe about 60 or maybe 62) so coffin dodger seems a bit premature. Interestingly the scrotes doing moped crime in London are actually mostly white kids
