Just wondering if any of us good folk know how this is coming along? The offical CRT notice remains unchanged since forever - "claiming" it aims to be reopen on 15th March...
WE'VE heard /read all this before though haven't we?
Do we have a local correspondent - think "Kate Aidee" on the ground whose been for a look recently?
WE really do need it to be open by early April or our routes get REALLY messed up again!

I cannot help I'm afraid, other than to suggest a call to C&RT. I say that with tongue firmly in cheek, because the last time I rang C&RT in similar circumstances the office staff didn't have a clue even where the stoppage was. However I did get a call back later, after they'd rung the contractor. Fingers crossed Rog

ah Rog... you have too much faith... on ringing them I was told to refer to the stoppage notice lol....
What we need is a ground soldier... if anyone is local to it?

Why not catch a train to Marple? There are 2 stations there as I recall - Rose Grove being one? (or is that Burnley?). And have a look for yourself. What's the betting there's lots of netting but no-one actually doing anything?

What's the betting there's lots of netting but no-one actually doing anything? IF I could afford to get on a train to Marple - (especially given the amount of "strikes" that are STLLL going on), I'd sooner spend the money on Gin! The last time we NEEDED public transport when my dad was in Hospital, it took 6 changes of trains to travel about 50 miles - they're a shower of shite that I'd frankly happily never ever travel on again...

I've just had a reply to a tweet to crt saying they think we are due and update this week.... and if they can be any further help to let them know but do check the stoppage notices page.
Perhaps I DO need to follow foxy's advice and get on 26 trains to take a look for myself.

There is a new stoppage notice. Not now open until 24th May. Sorry! Perhaps the work site should have CCTV / web cameras mounted on trees around it, so we can all see how slowly they're working. Where are the 'skilled' immigrants when you need 'em, eh?

76% owned by institutional shareholders. 22% by Joe public apparently. So their behaviour will be steered by the institutional shareholders whose aim is to make as much money as possible. Failure coming

"Kier Construction is arguably the most corrupt building company in Britain going by the fact that it was recently fined more than any of its competitors for stealing taypayers’ money. Kier has been busy in Bournemouth. It took over five million pounds for building our new hospital car park. At ten thousand pounds per parking space this is the most expensive hospital car park in Britain. A whistleblower from within Kier told me that the car park should only have cost about three and a half million. But Kier overcharged, basically stealing over a million pounds. As I was an elected hospital governor, I informed hospital chief executive Tony Spotswood about the problem. But he wrote that this was none of my business and refused to investigate. I had to resign in protest. So watch out, Kier Construction might be coming to a hospital or council or school or other public-sector project near you. If so, expect them to run off with millions more than they should have been paid. Long live good old-fashioned corruption! Long live Kier Construction!" www.snouts-in-the-trough.com/archives/946

"Kier has been found guilty of multiple safety violations." "Kier is no stranger to taking advantage of corrupt regimes, or working in countries with disturbing human rights records. The company made the headlines in the late 90s when it was alleged to have paid a bribe of $733,404 to gain the contract to build the Katse dam in South Africa."
