If you are dropping into Manchester through Newton Heath , make sure its not school holidays or weekends, that could frighten your clients a bit. Best avoid any mattress traps, the locals set them to catch soft southern incomers. The volly who helped us up and down told us of a tale of a new merc in the cut, a wife annoyed by her hubbies daliances stuck it in gear with a brick on the pedal, Splash!

'Shaw Hall' is not a 'place' to be found easily, there's a Shaw Hall Close and a Shaw Hall Bank Road. Couldn't you just have said 'Greenfield' ?
Aha! It is as I suspected! You have been using Canal Planner and locked onto Shaw Hall Bridge No 81. Like everybody knows where that is...

One of the reasons I sold my day hire boat on the upper Peak Forest was this type of thing. The canal was closed a fair while one year I had it while they installed a new lift bridge. Then there was a problem near Marple. The stoppage notice was wrong, quoted the winding hole at New Mills being the last one available whereas in reality the one at Strines was available. This resulted in me changing several trips that had been booked as full days to half days. If I'd known Strines was OK the parties would have been more than happy to cruise to Strines, lunch in the Sportsman and make a day of it. Cost me a couple of hundred quid. I could only see a future of more of this.

The answer is to demand some of the business licence money back from CRT, eh? They have taken the money but are not providing the goods or service.

There's no point in trying to get any money back from crt- to be fair, its in the licence terms and conditions... annoying as it is, there is no point in me making waves -things are as they are... just have to make the best of things - ok , with a bit of true British grumbling/apathy along the way lol
