Welcome to the premier boat and moped related discussion forum. All waifs, strays, outcasts and refugees are welcome here (except cavemen). It is customary to acknowledge our greeting, but in no way compulsory. In fact, off the top of my head ... I can't think of anything that's compulsory here, apart from taking the mick out of stabby's coffin boat Rog You forgot caravanners... Caravaners can be a pain in the butt, not all of them, can't tar them all with the same brush.

Why are you participating in a British boating forum if you live in South America? Is it really so lonely there? Are you one of the Great Train Robbers?

So there is a restriction on South Americans now, maybe he's renegade , wink wink, 'nuff said ................ Let's be really parochial and question why those who post pictures from a bus are trying for a posting per day record?

No restriction at all - in fact, why aren't there any Eskimos participating? Where are the South Koreans and Kenyans and New Zealanders? I just wonder why Charles, who apparently lives on the east coast of Brazil, takes an interest in what canal boaters have to discuss. Homesick for Blighty? My daughter's boyfriend is Brasilian and says the government there is a bit shit. Perhaps Charles is thinking of retiring to England and will be the next person to say here "Hi chaps, what do you think of this boat I saw on Apollo Duck / Ebay?"

Let's be really parochial and question why those who post pictures from a bus are trying for a posting per day record? It's a very rare forum that gets photos sent in live from Finland, isn't it? This shows that Thunderboat is cutting edge! As for my post count - bugger off - that's been done to death. No, the truth is, when I die, I have instructed Pirkko to have my post count inscribed on my gravestone, to show the world I have achieved SOMETHING DAHLINGS!

I think there are Antipodeans who have NBs, maybe they find the atmosphere on here a bit "rarified" I resist the Brazilian reference in deference to your parental status

Me no like this. Then I suggest you update yourself to 2019. This may be a very liberal forum but it doesn't respond to idiots on a long term basis. Well, that's a statement and a half!

He's quite a nice bloke (I think), mother Portuguese, father Italian. Born in Rio de Janeiro. Been in Finland a few years. Took my daughter to visit his sister in Milano recently, and into Switzerland. I like him because when I say something he knows exactly what I mean, and the same when he says something I get it. People often say things in a wrong way, but with persistence and patience you can winkle the meaning out. Isn't it whelks that get winkled? (Johnv will know this!) Or is it cockles? With a pin or needle.
