I think foreign aid is strange full stop, when Britain has a national debt approaching 2 trillion. Nearly every country has a national debt which shows how much we are all controlled by multi billionaire ‘investors’ who aren’t always interested in the welfare of people in third world countries (some are). So foreign aid is at least something, even if most of it comes out of our pockets.

Yes but you are a twat that thinks everyone should look after themselves and there should be no welfare state. I think we have to look after ourselves AND those around us. If we don’t try our best to look after ourselves we can become a drain on those around us. Don’t they tell you that in an emergency on a plane, you should take the oxygen first so you can remain conscious so you can give the mask to your child?

Foreign aid might be a bit flawed (as almost everything is) in it's application but ultimately it's designed to help others - thus reducing their wish to emigrate to the UK.

(This includes the UK) China because of the type of economy is harder to compare but in sheer amount it outstrips all other countries (including the USA) a noticeable skinflint is Japan at 0.2% of GDP

"This country ships about 13 billion a year abroad in foreign aid. On the news this morning one of the main stories was about the NHS considering cancelling non urgent operations for a month because it’s creaking under the strain. We have a housing / homeless crisis and numerous other social problems. We are cutting our armed forces continually and are now in a worrying situation re: defence. A lot of the homeless are ex-services. Where’s the support ?"

Foreign aid should be stopped. Its a waste of time and counterproductive.
Same with the welfare state. The only reason for a welfare state is so that the wealthy can take money from the working class pockets in order to pay protection money to the "poor and disorganised" so that the poor and disorganised don't go and knock down wealthy peoples doors or challenge them in other ways. When I say wealthy I mean wealthy not just nice house nice car boat and foreign holidays. I mean "rich beyond the dreams of everest".
Its a private security service. The only people who gain are those who have plenty already. The losers are those who go to work and pay taxes.
Its also very divisive. Which is handy.

China is probably the most controlling foreign force in Africa and looks to benefit from the enormous natural resources that Britain walked away from.

"It has been estimated that over the past 30 years, Africa has received over 960 billion pounds in Aid money from Global sources Of that 960, approximately 20% has been given to various water projects. Year upon year, billions more are poured in, and still organizations like Water Aid want more.
Each appeal is accompanied by some raggy arsed emaciated fly licked coon trekking 30 miles with a bucket. Why?
With all this free inward investment, Africa should be the global utopia, a paradise upon earth, with crystal clear and clean water, amazing medical technology, food a plenty, hygiene and lack of disease and so on.
Africa remains the universal shithole. So where in fuck is the money going?"

"There’s a chugging going on at the moment saying every pound you give will be matched by the government. Let’s get this straight :
1. I give them a quid 2. The government gives them a quid from my taxes 3. The government gives my taxes away as foreign aid 4. The government gives my taxes to the EU who give it away a foreign aid
So I’ve paid 4 times, 3 without being asked so only once did I have a choice.
So when the chuggers come a chuggin’ explain that you already paid at least twice and don’t want to pay twice more.
I also like asking them how much commission they get for signing me to a direct debit. They love that one. Just watch them squirm!
I once refused to work on a project for Oxfam because I was appalled at their waste and hypocrisy."

I suggest you read 'Factfulness' by Hans Rosling. .................... oh, by the way, the totally unnecessary use of the word 'coon' singles you out for what you really are.
