Something I hadn't thought about (and I'm pretty sure it's not an issue) but what is there in the way of diesel and coal boats up in Leeds? Down here in the Old Smoke, we're spoiled for diesel and coal boats - there's lots of them, as unreliable as they are. Or are there a few marinas close by I can stock up and refuel?
Thanks!

I have never seen a coal or diesel boat in Yorkshire in 14 years. I use anything but a marina, as they are to expensive, diesel is cheap from Morrisons and coal is cheap from any of the 3 local coal merchants. How long will red diesel be available from Morrisons now that the EU has said we cant use it for propulsion any more I have no idea?

There is a chap who handed out a leaflet the other day as we left leeds ... can supply coal and diesel to boats - I've got his number somewhere if you want it - havent used him as thus far, we know of local garages (close enough to canal to wheel 20 litre containers) . To be fair, on the L & L, In Skipton, Penine Cruisers Red is (was in early Jan) less than 80p a litre with whatever declaration you like... we filled up over the other side at Boothstown too for less than 80p last autumn.

As others have said never seen a coal and diesel boat up north, except ambush but he's on the west end of the L&L. i used to stock up with diesel when passing marinas, I believe the boatyard above five rise sells diesel now as well. As for coal I found that local coal merchants would quite happily deliver to the canal as long as your buying a few bags at a time.
