I wondered if the rough sleepers had turned up for breakfast, as Andy had suggested Blustery cold wind, but nothing exceptional. Managed to turn at the junction and reverse back to the water point. Actually quite sunny but cold. Supposed to rain later ... we'll see. Rog nope - no guests for breaky... they've opened the uht milk though as i noticed the now squashed container blowing around in the wind when i went up to the water point with my plastic containers to top up the tank again... it's all well and good having this shore power to use, but it's a pain not having a tap close enough - and it's still to windy for me to be arsed with reversing back down here if i take the boat to the water tank ... it's only about 2-300 yards but i figured 5 trips with with water containers will stop us runnning out until tomorrow when the forecast is better... Have new ariel but forgot coax AND need to wait for the ebay delivery to arrive at argos with the new gland/box to cover the holes removing the omni will uncover.

The wind's picked up this afternoon at Stafford, with very heavy rain showers blowing over, but all since we moored I'm pleased to report.
Move on in the morning which is supposed to be dry and bright. Still windy however.

Don't let me keep you from your tv. Rog Pointless has finished. We “won the jackpot” with pointless answers “Vientiane” and “Phnom Penh” (capital cities whose first vowel is i or o). Well we would have done, had we actually been in the programme! Although my other suggestion “Nipyidaw” turned out to be spelt “Naypyidaw”. Boo!

Visited Tesco supermarket Can't stand Tesco. Full of plebs. QED. Jeff was going to walk to Markies but wimped our and only went as far as Tescos (meanwhile I was filling up with water, reversing the boat back through the bridge in a hooley and turning the boat in the rather small “winding hole”). I will point out your displeasure of his actions to him.

Now the programme's finished ... I was making an exaggerated exclamation, that you were watching Pointless. I know the show has its fans, but I am not one of them. But I've just recalled you're a Strictly fan, so perhaps I should not have been so surprised Rog

I suppose it depends on whether you like quiz shows or not. As quiz shows go, some of the questions are quite challenging though admittedly there are a few question about sport (fatuous) and pop music (also fatuous). But they like questions on geography, chemical elements, US presidents, UK politicians and other such reasonably erudite stuff. Ok not on a par with Universtiy Challenge but apart from anything else, 17:15 = Pointless = time for tea and scones. It’s not a bad ritual!

Jane likes the programme, so I have seen it, and once understood, it is quite good. However, in the nature of these shows it is very repetitive. To see the show occasionally is tolerable ... every day and it drives me crazy. Rog PS I like the cream tea though
