Does anyone else think it's a bit of a strange coincidence that Jesus Christ was born and also died on a Bank Holiday?

Not at all. If God had chosen different dates a government might have decided to give folk more days off work. This would have had negative consequences for Britain's GDP and as we know, Britain's 'hard working families with children' would have born the brunt of this.
God knows everything, he certainly knows when his son should be born and die and because God has great compassion, he chose dates that didn't impact on others.

Did they have banks when jesus was doing his stuff? I thought banks came later on. John 2:13 When the Jewish Passover was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. John 2:14 In the temple courts He found men selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated at their tables. John 2:15 So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

pity He didn't campaign against climate change - now that really would have saved the world.
