A short and picture heavy thread of mouse , the dwarf and my trip to bring the old git closer to home.
Start of the journey at Oakham station - the little red cyclops is Max, a recently hatched alien from outer space who had a very busy two weeks over the half term holidays
Train to Ely, bit of shopping then hop onto the Kings Lynn express for 8 minutes to Littleport
Quick gather up of mooring lines and we are off heading for Denver Sluice
Splash of water at Hilgay bridge and before you know it we are at Denver Sluice

John Rennie had a little bit to do with it too - along with the Ouse washes
Off and away against a very fearce flood tide
mouse entrance to Salters Lode was unorthodox but he didnβt hit the wall - best draw a veil over that....!
Safely moored at Salters for the evening.
Nice steady cruise to our next overnight stop - Foxβs at March - mouse doing a passable Harold Shipman impression
Poor old Vera Lyn - the tales she must be able to tell, sadly she lookes as though there may not be too many more happy ones for her π’
Next morning we were away at 08:30 destination Whittlesea for lunch - just leaving Ashline Lock to moor up behind the leisure centre
Plenty of Swans nesting along the levels - wonβt be long until the peep peep peep sound echo across the river π
Before you know it we are through Stanground Sluice and back on the Nene - it is illegal to pass the Woolpack at Stanground so we upheld the law and stopped for a quick drink, we found the village idiot too π
eBay special on the embankment in Peterborough - it wonβt be getting too far up river with that air draft π§π€¦πΌββοΈ
Next stop Ferry Meadows
Park all to ourselves the next morning π
Getting up steam for the Easter Special - chuffed to bits etc
A troublesome Scot lost her head here
Through Fotheringhay bridge - a bridge that can turn a windscreen into a 1000 piece glass jigsaw in a heartbeat
And all too soon we are back at Titchmarsh - Max did a good job of shooing away this pair of Swans who had plans on building a nest by the boat - the thought of those pair kicking off when a Rottweiler passed them to get on and off the boat meant it was mutually beneficial to all concerned they buggered off elsewhere - swans included!
Cheers mouse - a good trip ππ»βπ
