I'm surprised we don't get a lot more cwdf members, given several here behave in a manner that they profess to have been the reason for leaving there. Destroying threads seems to be the favourite. One or two here appear to spend most of their day doing so. Hence my observation.

We do have a couple that regularly throw totally out of context remarks into the mix but I would have said that the majority of "thread drift" is just that and hardly wrecking. We have also recently had a poster who was totally outside reasonable bounds (and was thoroughly chewed out for it) but I would have to say, generally I can't agree with your post. (that presuming that I have not missed something) If you were referring to your thread with the (excellent) pictures and the argument over identification, I would have thought that reasonable, especially as they presented evidence to support their belief. Hardly thread wrecking (IMHO It was not done in an aggressive or unreasonable manner) Certainly, it did not impinge on my enjoyment of the photos

I don't mind thread drift once something has run its course, but get annoyed at the intent by a minority to intentionally disrupt the flow of info simply to register the fact they are online.

I am extremely guilty of this. I read stuff that triggers a chain of thought which I sometimes post. No malicious intent, and I try to avoid doing so in technical threads. I've always taken this 'ad hocishness' as being part of thunderboat style, but I'll try to desist if it's annoying everyone Damn ... done it again haven't I. Rog

I think it gets annoying if you've got people crayoning over an interesting discussion. Anyway who died and left jenlyn in chargeπ

Rog I had to give this a like because I am ace at waffling inconsequentially about random thoughts triggered by the posts.. If I've nowt to say on topic then I tend to add ..well anything really..at least it shows I'm not ignoring the threads(i think).... I like the way threads weave...

Ideas spark reading threads, so I just post, there may or may not be some relevance. One of the charms of Thunderboat. Did I just hear the whoosh of teacher throwing a board rubber? Sorry Miss.

I was dogless for a little while but he didn't notice, heh!

If anyone is behaving as a 'cwdf member' here it's jenlyn for telling us not to disrupt threads or go off-piste. TB has run quite well for 3 years as it is. Carry on chaps, say I.
