Lost a vent when I was down in London, I assume that some hilarious jokester stole it as it wasn't there the next day. It's an odd size - 6 3/4". I found one source, Black Country Metal Works, but they're not in stock and a reply to my email to them about it resulted in no plans to manufacture any this size any time soon. So I guess I will have either keep looking (anyone seen any of these about?) or cover it up with something a bit more permanent than my broken plant pot. My concern is that the boat needs that vent for BSS reasons so I'm hesitant to cover it up. Any thoughts? I suppose I could see if a small vent will cover it. Pretty annoying though.

I dont think the missing mushroom will result in a fail. As long as there is ventilation at the time of inspection your inspector should pass it. The mushroom just stops rain water getting in and as far as i know it doesnt aid ventilation in any way. Then re fit the plant pot untill you find something better, if the plant pot has holes in the bottom even better. Annoying thing is that it was probably a fellow boater that nicked it.

Ah fair enough, I'll worry less about the BSS aspect of it. May well have been another boater, I can't imagine your common-or-garden tea-leaf would nick a mushroom vent cover.

Possibly nicked for scrap but doubtful i would say, more likely somebody else who has had one nicked. There is a way of fixing them so they cant simply be spun off, somebody will know the specifics, i never got around to doing ours.

Who steals mushroom vents?
Q: What do you get if you cross a toadstool and a full suitcase? A: Not mushroom for your holiday clothes!

I have a brass mushroom in my shed that came with the junk in the boat. It may be that sort of size. I'm away on the boat for a couple of nights. Remind me in a few days. Ventilation on BSS is advisory anyway.
