I have never understood the logic, that because a person appears on tv they must be great cooks. Good self publicists maybe. Rog Well I can honestly say as someone who hasn’t been on TV that I’m a crap cook.

We have both lochs and a lake in Scotland, if they were the same there would only be one word for them. <iframe width="26.09999999999991" height="4.900000000000006" style="position: absolute; width: 26.09999999999991px; height: 4.900000000000006px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_55020423" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="26.09999999999991" height="4.900000000000006" style="position: absolute; width: 26.1px; height: 4.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1242px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_19378682" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="26.09999999999991" height="4.900000000000006" style="position: absolute; width: 26.1px; height: 4.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 184px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_66106832" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="26.09999999999991" height="4.900000000000006" style="position: absolute; width: 26.1px; height: 4.9px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1242px; top: 184px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_53170646" scrolling="no"></iframe> That's a bit like saying that there aren't any churches in Wales because they are called "eglwisi". Annoying vertical text aside, no eglwhatsits is the name in a different language - welsh. People speaking the national language (English) call them churches. So it is in Scotland where people speaking the national language (English) as opposed to Gallic, call them lochs. It is similar to other regional dialects, for example people from the North call themselves “people”, whereas people from London and the Home Counties call people from the North “filthy clog-wearing morons”. See, it is quite simple really.

We have a super duper posh part of our shopping centre built. West quay water mark, with posh cinema and bowling but with all the top restaurants in a beautiful setting with the old walls.
Lovely it is.
Anyway it opened a year ago or so and Jamie had a restaurant going in but the unit is still empty as they started hitting hard times then and couldent afford to open it

...and some staff don’t actually care.. Staff typically “don’t care” because they have no incentive, training or enthusiasm to care, nor realise the importance of it. That is a failure of training and management. Jamie was fairly thick and I’m sure didn’t possess the skills to only recruit staff who didn’t care and couldn’t be trained to, when other restaurant owners manage to recruit staff a large percentage of whom can be trained and motivated appropriately. I wonder if they dont care because they know they will mostly all get work in other food business being trained to work in a top chefs restaurant. Did Jamie ever get a Michelin star?

I actually had a boy in my class who had the name,Dwayne Pype. There was also a Wyatt Earp.Theresa Greene was a nice little girl. One family had a boy named Blue & a girl called Skye, imagine calling for them both in the park.😄 I nearly forgot a teacher-Mr Dix,he was going to call his new son Ben until I pointed out Ben Dix sounded like a white goods brand. Wyatt Earp. Really? It's said that the American Wyatt Earp's family originated from Tipton.

When your business model depends on employing minimum-wage Poles and Lithuanians who are planning to fuck off back to Bialystock or Vilnius as soon as they have saved enough money then you can't be too surprised if they don't have the long-term interests of your business at heart. Especially when they read about your £5 million mansion in Essex that you just bought.

And a lake in Scotland. Just a short walk away from the UK's highest altitude railway station, Currour. There is only one lake in Scotland, and it isn’t Ossian. Scotland's Only Lake?
A well-known pub quiz question is "What is the name of Scotland's only lake?" The answer is usually given as "Lake of Menteith" in Stirlingshire. The reason is that all the other bodies of water in Scotland are known as lochs... To be strictly accurate that is not the right answer. The Lake of Menteith is Scotland's only inland "natural" body of water. There are also a number of man-made lakes - Pressmennan Lake in East Lothian is an artificial reservoir constructed in 1819. It lies in a gully in the Lammermuir Hills, above the village of Stenton. It is roughly 2 kilometres in length but less than 100 metres broad. Others include the Lake of the Hirsel in the Scottish Borders and Lake Louise (within the grounds of Skibo Castle). Just to muddy the waters (as it were), there is also a sea bay near Kirkcudbright known as Manxmans Lake. www.rampantscotland.com/know/blknow_lakes.htm
