Off the menu? Menu not agreed. Ingredients gone very stale and probably tastes foul. We are still waiting to be served. No competent staff in the Quitters Quay Cafe.

I did have a pot noodle lurking in my cupboard... son has habit of emptying food cupboards when his jobs finish and bringing all the disgusting junk food back here He just won't leave food to waste..stems from those expeditions where they lived on dried noodles as they were the lightest stuff to carry. Needless to say when he goes off on another job I clear out the 'offerings'

PS Do you cook a pot noodle ? Why don't you lot try this dead simple recipe? Well, you need a wok, and I bet few of you have one. So buy one. Make some teriyaki sauce (half mirin / half soy sauce and some sugar). Fry some small pieces of beef or chicken and cut them up into smaller pieces with scissors and soak in the teriyaki sauce mixture. Cook some noodles in water, put to one side. Throw into the heated wok (remember to buy one before starting all this!) those 'wok vegetables' that you'll find in supermarkets, stir and fry for a couple of minutes then chuck in the noodles, keep stirring now and then, and then throw in the meat (unless you're a vegetarian). Fry and stir until you think it's ready. Stirring is the perfect time to enjoy some beer.

Largest island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island Vulcan point in Crater Lake on Vulcano Island in Lake Taal on Luzon (PHI) I've been to 4. Remarkable place, for several reasons. The local 'Batak' people, who originate from Taiwan and the Philippines have a truly lousy taste in music, will happily rustle up a dog sandwich for you and their good looking, strong young men make up a high proportion of the gigolos and rent boys on Bali. Lake Toba, within which the island of Samosir sits is the largest natural freshwater lake in south east Asia. It's a beautiful place, relatively cool because of its altitude. Back in the 90's it was 'party central'. The hedonists have now moved on leaving far too much accommodation for the now very few tourists. This results in ridiculously cheap rooms, think I paid 2 quid a night. The legacy of drugs from the party days still exists. It was quite remarkable to see a sign advertising hashish for sale directly opposite the police station. This, in a country that has a very low tolerance towards drugs and some of the harshest sentences, including death.

The irony with Jamie Oliver is that he bangs on about healthy eating, and his Italian restaurant chain extolled the virtues of a Mediterranean diet but then went bust, whereas if he'd opened a chain of kebab and pizza shops offering bags of chips and cans of Coca Cola as side orders, he'd have made a mint.

What are the odds that he took significant dividends during the profitable years but set up the various businesses (or associated holding company) with share capital of Β£1? Nice work for him, he loses nothing, staff will only be paid part of their wages and the government will fund this as well as losing the VAT he collected on their behalf; the various suppliers, landlords etc. will get 5p in the pound of what they're owed, that's if they're lucky.

Cooking is dead easy. When it is brown it is done, when it is black it is buggered!
