A lot better now, still a bit bruised and her lip is swollen but she still enjoyed Liverpool enormously. She headed off home with Sam this morning and will probably be getting home around now, so I'm back on my own again now (apart from Shania, obvs) and I'm going to spend the next couple of days doing some more odd jobs on the boat before heading south again. Think I will probably do a trip along the Caldon Canal again this year, Sam has four days off in mid-July and the last two times he's been to the boat have been static visits so it will be good to do some cruising again.

this place is becoming more like a social network every day. whatever happened to PMs ? It's a discussion forum. We discuss issues of interest to us as members. We are interested in how Mr Stabby Mum is after her fall. If we are not interested in fellow members, what is the point of this place? We've done the pump out/cassette type issues ... more like 'pen pals' now. But you are free to hang back and wait for the punch-ups if that's your preference. Rog

Quite scary thinking of the marmite man being in charge.
I don't think the blue rinse brigade will let it happen but he does seem to be runaway favourite.

I thought he was the darling of the blue rinse addlepates. Looks like we'll have a poor future foist upon us by just a few tory members, hardly representative of society.

I saw a picture of Boris Johnson on The Sun's front page in the Co-oP yesterday. Why does he have such black and rotten teeth, and teeth missing? You'd think on his salary he could visit the dentist/mouth hygienist once a year.

If Boris gets there I'm hiding away and gonna stop following the news... Ostrich act.....what u can't see n hear u don't fret about I reckon the meedya has misunderstood the facts behind the numbers, They simplistically state that Boris is way ahead. Perhaps they might reflect on the fact that Boris is the most well-known and the most controversial candidate; 114 MPs voted FOR him and therefore nearly 200 didn't. That may be the sum of those who would oppose Boris at all costs.

Very true, but that is our system. If the Marxists win the next general election and start doing what I think they will do, will that represent what the majority want....... I remember when the post office ran the phone system and British rail the trains, not to mention the gas board, it was much worse than today.
