Any tips on repainting my boat top? I just want to freshen up the finish by putting a new coat of paint onto it. It has the paint with grit on. What’s the best way to prepare it? Can’t give it a light sand as you would with smooth paint. Was thinking a good wash down and rinse with a stiff brush maybe?

I'm no expert but would do exactly as you suggest. I'd just look very carefully for even the tiniest bit of rust. If I found any I'd go to the trouble of getting the angle grinder out and take that area back to bare metal.
I suppose the other thing is that a further coat of paint might reduce the anti slip properties of the grit finish. My best guess is that it wouldn't, but if you were concerned about this it might be worth doing a small sample area, wetting it, and see if it's acceptable to you.
Some people use floor paint on the roof, for its anti slip properties, but the one I chose gave off a chalky residue when wet that then ran down the cabin sides, horrible mess.

Sugar soap, and 3M scotch pads is the way I would go, the pads are flexible and abrasive, so it should key in the new paint. I would use a quality gloss paint roofs have a hard time with all those UVs shining down
