Just watching the London news regarding the stabbings and shootings over the weekend. Absolutely ridiculous that the parents are blaming the government for not stopping the atrocities. Surely if your kid is out after midnight roaming the streets, it's your responsibility. What the fuck are the government supposed to do about it? Stop and search (section 60) gets shouted down when used, yet is the only real chance of removing weaponry from the streets. It's getting really stupid.

You are right, always easier to blame the government, London mayor etc (who do have some responsibility) but maybe they should also be looking closer to home as well.........................

Maybe if the Gov hadn't reduced Police budgets there would be enough officers to at least provide a bit more of a deterrent to the 'nasties'. Surely the possibility of getting caught plays some part in this.

I wonder how many of the perps come from single parent families? Would be interesting to know that.

I just don't think they realise how stupid they look criticising others when their parenting skills seem to be obsolete.

Out of the four stabbings only one was carried out late at night, the rest between around 2pm and 5pm - its not a simple problem.

Doesn't mean I think nothing should be done though.

I have no idea, but I have strong suspicions, and if I am right then, yes, the gubbinment (or rather parliament as a cooperative whole) can do a lot about it. Legalise and control the bloody stuff under the existing prescription systems combined with supervised drug use centres. The cost saving in terms of compensation for damage, and reduction in costs of the courts and prisons. would go a long way towards financing the organisation needed to control the use of newly legalised drugs. And of course there would be an immediate reduction in the apparent shortfall in policing the streets.

I wouldn't disagree with your suspicions too much other than ask whether it is 'control of territory' even without drugs that plays a part.
Remain to be convinced that legalising drugs is part of the solution though.

It's all black people. There, I've said it. That's interesting. Gun crime has a bias towards black on black but I suspect in the latest case it is more likely to be Bengali's. Mind you there are a lot of Somali gangs around as well which is African. It is a drug thing. Take the profit from drugs away it will stop.

young men died tragically in the capital last year, some by shooting, most by stabbing. The police have said they have no evidence that the deaths are linked in any way. Yours Truly pretends to no forensic ability but if I were a white middle aged female I would not be unduly worried. What do you think?
January 20th: Student Djodjo Nsaka, 19, January 23rd: Schoolboy Quamari Barnes, 15, March 19th: David Adegbite, 18, March 21st: Abdi Sheikhey, 19, April 7th: Karim Samms, 16 April 11th: Abdullahi Tarabi, 19 April 19th: Jordan Wright, 19 April 23rd: Mohammed Hasan, 17 May 7th: Elijah Dornelly, 17 May 14th: Joao Gomes, 18 June 2nd: Abdirahman Mohamed, 17 June 6th: Osman Sharif, 16 June 29th: talented boxer Mahad Ali, 18 August 2nd: Joshua Bwalya, 16, August 5th: Moped rider Soban Khan, 18 August 8th: Daniel Namanga, 19, August 8th: Schoolboy Jermaine Goupall, 15 August 25th: RAF Cadet Abdul Mayanja, 19 September 5th: Corey Junior Davis, 14 October 6th: Saif Abdulmagid, 18 October 29th: Aren Mali, 17 November 2nd: Michael Jonas 17, November 20th: Kacem Mokrane, 18 November 21st: Apprentice carpenter Jason Isaacs, 18 December 31st: An 18-year-old man December 31st: A 17-year-old boy
The 26 teenagers listed above bring the total number of London deaths by stabbing to 80. The numbers continue to rise remorselessly.
